Afternoon all We went to the motorbike show at the NEC and noticed there were owners clubs there for Honda, Suzuki, Harley, etc, etc but none for us!! We were also quite disappointed at the Yamaha section so was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a Yamaha owners club there? As I've said on numerous posts(!!), I'm new to this biking world and love talking to bikers and would have really liked to have seen a stall for us. If anyone's interested, I don't mind getting hold of Yamaha to see if they would fund it or have a little section of their stand next year set up as an owners section. Hi all, New to the forum and wanted to ask experienced Yamaha riders their thoughts on Yamaha Dealersihps/Service Dept's and used bikes. Preferably if you own a Yamaha over 7 yrs old do you have to perform all service/maintenance yourself? Long story short (sort of)... I wanted to start learning how to ride motorcycles & wanted to be mature & responsible about it. I signed up, took & passed our state MSF course and received license. While taking MSF I saw a used Yamaha Seca II on Craigslist for sale, spoke to my instructor in regards to this being a beginner type bike for me & after discussion decided to buy. hi all just spent some hard earned money on a 1990 xtz 750 and all seemed well initially (great fun bike ) starts fine but after 10 mins or so of riding perfectly on the 3 occasions i have riddden it , closed throttle going into corner and serious misfire has started and continued all the way home . bike ticks over ok but blipping throttle on and off eventually just coughs and dies . any advice will be greatly appreciated filters are new , have plugs to fit tomorrow. regards martin

Hi there just got myself my first bike a ybr 125, pick it up on monday its a 2006 having read a lot online about the bike since i bought it seems the choke is a pain in the neck, and i believe the 07 came with a fuel injection system. is the choke really that bad, should i have went a bit more and got an 07. james

Hi im the new guy, Im 51 5 kids 3 grandkids bunch of bikin projects, been riding since 69. heres some pics, yellow bike was finished last year, I did all but paint and a couple machined parts. frame is another 76 xs 650 which im doing in a japanese brat style, got a lot of projects most are yamys. I try to fund my fun by finding ol bikes and selling off parts. Really like the euro streetfighters too.

Just bought a 2nd hand micron race can & linkpipe for my 96 yzf750 off ebay. After fitting will i need to set up/tune the engine to the new exhaust? Will it affect the exup valve, the way it works & the way the bike runs etc? Any advice will be appreciated. p.s. i'll be adding pics of my bike this weekend

Just thought I would say hello. Plus I thought I would mention that I am after a Yamaha TW200 or TW225. Now I know they are not bikes we get in the UK, but I really like them. I used to have a TW125, and I only sold it as I was starting a business. I really liked my TW125, but its was slow with me on it. So I wanted to see if i can get a bigger cc version. My only other choice is to get a cheap old TW125 and by lots of tuning bits from: www.tw-parts.com Which I don't have a problem with, but I would prefer a TW225 more. Hello !!! I am new to this. My name is Jim & I have recently purchased a DT125R to commute from Cambridge to Melbourn (in England), which is a journey of about 14 miles each way, in order to save my job as a Buyer for a roofing company ... I am now waiting to do a CBT, such that I can legally ride - I used to ride a little Suzuki ER50 back in the early 80's, but that was a long time ago!!! I am a little nervous & am in need of getting hold of some reasonably cheap protective clothing, i.e. jacket etc - does anybody haver any ideas in my area of England? Afternoon all This may be a stupid question but I was riding to work this morning (it was about -2) and the bike cut out a couple of times, once at a roundabout and then again at the lights about 1/2 a mile later. I did the normal thing, let it run until it was warm and didn't need the choke anymore before I set off and took it easy cos it was a bit chilly and the roads are slippery. The roundabout is about 2 miles from the house so I appreciate the running temperature will still be a bit low but it's never done it before. I didn't ride it yesterday but did muc off it down on Monday when the bike had cooled down on Monday night. Is it something as simple as the…

Hi Guys only just registered for this forum, been a reader for some time now!! i bought my Yammy FZ6S after getting my full license back in june (upgraded from a 06 xvs 650 custom) haven't looked back!! HOWEVER i am currently in the market for a slip on set of cans and was wondering if i bought them from overseas will they still fit my Australian supplied bike?? i got some prices for several exhausts here in OZ and they are all terribly expensive, even purchasing from overseas and costing in around $100 in freight i will still end up approx $400 ahead.
