Just thought I would say hello. Plus I thought I would mention that I am after a Yamaha TW200 or TW225. Now I know they are not bikes we get in the UK, but I really like them. I used to have a TW125, and I only sold it as I was starting a business. I really liked my TW125, but its was slow with me on it. So I wanted to see if i can get a bigger cc version. My only other choice is to get a cheap old TW125 and by lots of tuning bits from: www.tw-parts.com Which I don't have a problem with, but I would prefer a TW225 more. As I want to use it at weekend, to get to Wigan. Plus have the power for two people. Thanks John P.S. Also I would consider …

Hello !!! I am new to this. My name is Jim & I have recently purchased a DT125R to commute from Cambridge to Melbourn (in England), which is a journey of about 14 miles each way, in order to save my job as a Buyer for a roofing company ... I am now waiting to do a CBT, such that I can legally ride - I used to ride a little Suzuki ER50 back in the early 80's, but that was a long time ago!!! I am a little nervous & am in need of getting hold of some reasonably cheap protective clothing, i.e. jacket etc - does anybody haver any ideas in my area of England? My bike is all black & looks & perfroms like a dream. Please - let me know…

Afternoon all This may be a stupid question but I was riding to work this morning (it was about -2) and the bike cut out a couple of times, once at a roundabout and then again at the lights about 1/2 a mile later. I did the normal thing, let it run until it was warm and didn't need the choke anymore before I set off and took it easy cos it was a bit chilly and the roads are slippery. The roundabout is about 2 miles from the house so I appreciate the running temperature will still be a bit low but it's never done it before. I didn't ride it yesterday but did muc off it down on Monday when the bike had cooled down on Monday night. Is it something as simple as the…

Hi Guys only just registered for this forum, been a reader for some time now!! i bought my Yammy FZ6S after getting my full license back in june (upgraded from a 06 xvs 650 custom) haven't looked back!! HOWEVER i am currently in the market for a slip on set of cans and was wondering if i bought them from overseas will they still fit my Australian supplied bike?? i got some prices for several exhausts here in OZ and they are all terribly expensive, even purchasing from overseas and costing in around $100 in freight i will still end up approx $400 ahead. I am particularly interested in the quad pipes from Laser!!! does anyone have these fitted and have you he…

A friend of mine picked this bike up for me from a friend of his. The guy put it down, got scared, and started to part it out to put in the alley for the trash man. I have all the parts in a box and have been trying to find some info on it. The tag says 1980 but the guy says its an 83 750 but dosn't know what model or anything else. It ran before he tore it down, just wondering if it's worth putting back together or just making something fun out of it.

Hi All, I have a 2003 TDM 900 that seems to have an overheating problem in slow traffic or after coming into slower traffic after a decent run. The fan seems to come on eventually but not until the temp ind is right up to the top of the gauge and can cut out on over temp'. Can anyone help with some ideas or tips, please? Many thanks, Chris

Just bought my first Yamaha, a 96 YZF750R in red/white/black. My previous bikes have all been kwacks or aprilias, 2x RS250's, a ZXR400 & a couple of ZX-6R's. Any advice on maintaining the YZF, thigs to keep an eye on, upgrade etc... would be much appreciated. Its currently got k&n air filters & ive just bought a used micron can for it off ebay but having read a few old magazine reviews on it ive found out a race can is a waste of money for the YZF exups, is this true??

The electric starter on my YBR125 is not working. The Yamaha dealer has told me it is likely the brushes have gone, which will cost about £40 to replace plus £50 labour. I thought I would have a go myself. Can anyone advise please where I might purchase the brushes and are there any YBR125 manuals available which would show me how to do the job. Thanks for your advice. Steve

Hi all, I have just joined the community and I would like to say 'hello' to you all. I have just bought a second-hand XVS125 with which to pass my test and then graduate to a 650 in due course. I rode bikes for over ten years, but gave it all up after having two bikes nicked within six months of each other and then starting a family (incidents not linked!). I love my car (a Rover 220 Tomcat) but the state of the roads, the price of fuel and 'traffic-calming' generated congestion are killing it rather quickly, hence my return to two wheels. I am no 'spring chicken' (51 in February) and so have chosen the cruiser format in place of the enduros and cafe racers I used to …

I never use hearing protection other than my helmet, and I was wondering how the rest of you treat this issue. The people here seem to be worse drivers on average than I have ever had to deal with, so I want to be able to hear whats going on around me more clearly. My bike is pretty loud though, and I am sure that my hearing is being damaged at least a little. So, how often do you use hearing protection? Have you noticed that plugs make you miss anything?

I cant see a Newbie room, so I will post here to introduce myself. I am Neil, and I am from Nottingham. I have always had a passion for bikes, but my circumstances have not always allowed me to have one. I am now the very proud owner of a 2000 R6 in Blue. 11,000 miles, bought on Sept 18th. I love it. Its pretty much standard apart from a high lift, oval dual exit Blue Flame exhaust, LED rear lite cluster incorporating rear indicators, little front indicators which I hate and will replace, and a nice under tray. I have "chavved" it up a bit with a small blue lite underneath which illuminates the hugger and the under tray, and I am told it looks really smart. If I hear i…
