When People Point .... My Black R6 generates much pointing and visual admiration as I pass by people on the street, in their cars, on the bus .... What's the coolest, least arrogant response to admirers like them? Nod, rev it, thumbs up, floor it, wheelie, ignore them.... ? How do you respond?

I am currently experiencing problems with a tight rear wheel. Brakes, bearings and drive chain all have no problem. Drives under load for first 500-1000 yards then goes free. I've recently had an oil change...could the oil viscosity be causing the problem? I used the manufacturers recommended oil. Has anybody ever experienced such a problem? If so, please let me know what I can do to solve the problem. Cheers Big Ears.

Hey yal! I need help with this 1997 YZF750. There seems to be no timing marks on the cams. I have timed cams on hundreds of other bikes. The only marks I see are a couple of 5mm holes drilled half way through the side of the far right hand(as you are sitting on the bike)cam lobes. There are no dimples, arrows or stamped lines on the sprockets. I spoke with 2 veteran Yamaha technicians and they both said that there is a line on the camshaft that will line up with a line on the top of one of the cam journal caps, as you look down from above. I took the camshafts out and inspected them closely as well as the caps. Guess what. No lines, dots or arrows. I do remember timi…

Can anyone help me ? I recently passed my test and bought a 1995 fzr 600 genesis. I rode the bike for a month or so with no problems in fact i loved it but now it has developed a slight water leak. I have removed the fairings but cant see where the leak is coming from. There is no power loss and it only seems to leak at high revs.I only noticed it when i went to take off my leathers and i had a wet patch on my left shin

I use my R6 for work everyday. Some of my shifts demand a 4:30am departure. I am aware that one should always warm up the engine before setting off, but what's a decent temp to aim for? (a colleague has advised me that he once fatally damaged an R6 because he failed to warm it up and it's high rev nature caused an engine crack)! Any other winter riding advice also welcome.

I started up my WR 450/2003 today and I had to use the choke to keep it running for about 5 minutes. The exhaust turned cherry red, looked like my bike was going to explode. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi all. I am fairly new to biking and am having a concience dilemma. I bought my stuff at my one stop shop Hein Gericke which is not too far from me and the clothes seem to get pretty good press so i got myself one of their retro style leather jackets and have just bought a pair of their leather trousers the pro sports ones. I am a 36" waist and when I tried the 36" waist on they fitted but the salesman said leather trousers stretch up to 10% and as such should go for the 34" ones. I got the 34" waist ones and wearing them on the bike has been horrific as the crotch seems to restrict you straddling the tank(I have an R6) and then when you try and get your feet onto the…

Afternoon all Had a quick look and there seems to be a few people introducing themselves so thought I might aswell do the same!!! New to biking - passed my test in August and have a 2000 plate FZS600 Fazer. Very happy with the bike and looking forward to going to the motorbike show to see what Yamaha have on show!! Can't afford another one yet though. Really enjoying biking. Even on my CBT I realised why so many people love it. Had a couple of scary moments since I passed my test and after having numerous cars thinking they can get out of that junction first, have invested in a fluorescent bib!! Every little helps! Always brings a smile when bikers acknow…

hello all !! Im new to this forum thingy but Ive got a 86 Yamaha FZ600 bike that some asshole previous owner really screwed up.. It seems he used excessive amounts of silicone on the face of the cam cover which squeezed inside and ended up in the oil pump intake in the crankcase, clogging it, restricting the oil flow and now causing the crank, cams and head to get screwed. 2 of the main bearings have spun and so has one of the rod bearings which has mostly fallen apart causing the rod to be loose and rattle (the reason i originally tore the engine apart) Ive now got a crank, two cams and a head that are scratched beyond sensible use and a bunch of worn ou…
