Hi, i'm Steve, 21 from Grimsby. I go to Sheffield Hallam Uni doing Quantity Surveying. Just bought my first 'big bike' which gets delivered to me next week. Its a 06 plate R6 inblack. Not got too much planned for it, just a few carbon goodies. Recently sold my car which was a mag featured show car corsa but i think i have been shown the light with bikes. I'll get some decent pics once it arrives but i'll post up the ones i have now. Cheers, Steve

I have seen a few of these before but never all together at the same time Comprehending Engineers - Take One Two engineering students were walking across campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?" The second engineer replied "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want." The second engineer nodded approvingly, "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit." Comprehending Engineers - Take Two To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the enginee…

Hey all im trav a new member just thought id give out some info on a problem i had with my trx850 and from what i hear is common with most yamahas... if anyone has ever experiecned there bike back fireing and running on 1 cylindar (if a twin) or 2 cylindars (if a 4) then your problem is there is water in your sparkplug inlets... just dislodge them and spray some wd40 on them... also if you can try to put a clean rag down the inlets to soak up the water... it will do the trick... ps sorry bout my shabby spelling lol

I am sure this has been posted here before, but to the newbies who have never read it before please post this on to another forum especially car ones if you subscribe to them as well, maybe if it kicks one supid cager into looking in the mirror before they change lane it will be worth it anyhow here it is it will bring a lump to your throat I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by. But you didn't see me driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window. I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children. But you didn't see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless. I saw you stare at my …

Hi from a newbie, I am the owner of a 2000 V-Star 1100 Classic. The rear fender has been damaged beyond what I want to repair and I am looking for a new/used one. I found one for sale but it is for a 2006 Classic. Are these fenders interchangable? Thanks for any help. Camconative

Hi All firstly, just wanted to say hello, as I am new to here, picking up my new R6 next weekend. 2003, blue & completely standard apart from mushrooms & sliders, like a kid waiting for Christmas at the moment Anyway, would someone be so kind as to tell me if the 03 R6 has the Yamaha KISS immobiliser fitted? I know it has an immobiliser fitted & just assumed it was this. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can. Cheers. Stu

Hi, I've got a xj600s divvy and I wanted to try and get some of the blemishes and the odd white mark off the fairing. What would be a good thing to use to do this? I was thinking t-cut would do the trick but I'm unsure because its fairing and not metal so to spk. Any suggestions?

Hi, my names nik and I've recently bought myself a Yamaha xj600s divvy for my first bike. I know its probably not as fancy as some of the other riders on here but I'm happy with it so far so good *touch wood*. I'm not really into driving at break neck speeds, I just like a leisurely ride out and chill out. I used to have a car but thanks to her majesty I totted up some points within the probationary period and she took my car license off me grr lol but I've learned my lesson the hard way so I'm being a good boy from now on. I passed my bike test in dec '07 with only 2 minors which I was well chuffed about. Peed me off with the "U" turn excercise because I knew I could do …

Hi All Had my Xj since october and every time it rains the front brakes are crap, takes a good 5 to 8 seconds of pulling hard on the lever to clear the water off then and I now have to virtually ride with them on to keep em working when it rains, looked at the front wheel whilst going along the other day when it was raining and the water was being channelled onto the brake caliper by the mudguard, is this normal, if so is there anything i can do to solve it, get the fright of my life every time i try to use them (quite often on the A2 in rush hour) Rob

Hello there, Totally new to the biking world, though I have gotten my feet a bit wet. First of all, I go by the name Vitai Slade, so hello to all of you. Second, I currently own a 2001 Yamaha R6 and love it. It is my first bike and already I've had tons of fun. Now I firmly believe that there are two kinds of riders. Those that have dropped their bike, and those that WILL drop their bike. I am of the former group. Thankfully, I have learned my lesson on this used bike. No, no, I wasn't cruising at 90mph down the highway. In fact, I was sitting in a parking spot. YES, a PARKING SPOT. Though embarrassing as it might be, I tell you that I had just performed the dumbest …

Hi All, Yes another Newbie, must be the weather making us all feel like getting back on our bikes (yeah right) I have just got myself a Thundercat after being off of 2wheels for nearly 4 years. Used to own a 2000 R6 but due to getting older and fatter needed a bit more comfort. The bike seams lovely and smooth, obviously not the same to throw around the corners but pretty nice none the less. Anyway lets just keep wishing for some dry days. Keep safe all.
