Hi All, I'm posting this following a discussion on the Yahoo! Radian group (so some people will already have seen this). I've just had tubes put in my tyres. They were constantly losing pressure - got even worse in the cold weather, to the point they lost about 1/3 pressure inside a couple of days. There were no obvious defects or leaks from the valves or rims (and it was both tyres) - tried the soapy water trick and new valves and no joy. As a result, I've had tubes put in the tyres - and some folks are saying it's a bad idea because of the fact that the tubes will heat up quicker than the tyres. Anyone got any wisdom/experience to share on this? TIA

Hi everyone at last I have passed the test I am now a proud Biker. Once I got back to Harleys Training centre in Glasgow after passing my test I noticed they had a Yellow and Black Fazer 600 on an 03 plate with 17000 miles on for sale for £2700, it had every extra fitted to it including middle fairing and belly pan and it was lovely, is it a good buy??? should I buy it????? I really wanted a Blue and black one.

Hi all, I've just bought an S-reg XJ600N as a project and winter hack bike, so this looks like the place to be. Seems to be in fair condition apart from a knackered front tyre and a gummed-up clutch - it hasn't run since April. Otherwise it's just a question of TLC I hope, though a lot waits on the keys catching up with me as they've gone walkabout. I'm up in Liverpool and I can often be found lurking on the BMW Club forum and the BikerMatch social website. Already spotted one familiar name from BikerMatch! This is a return to Yamahas for me after a long absence - back in the 80s I had an XJ650, but that's another story. cheers, Wills

Hi all. I am looking for a bit of advice, if anyone can help. I have the chance of buying a 1981 Yamaha XS250 Custom, that has been sat in a garage since 1982. It only has 415 miles on the clock, and is still owned buy the original owner. It does have corrosion on it, and the chrome is pretty goosed. He said he managed to get it running again, but not very good. Now i do know what risks are with this bike, and i know they were not brilliant. It just seems to me that it could be a good project. What i am looking for is some advise to what it really is worth, and what it would be worth when restored. I have posted a few pictures of the bike, and your comments would be great…

Two questions really, my 57 plate XT125R is serving me well but as I commute daily on it all year round I'd like to get some of those toasty heated grips! Am I right in thinking the XT125 will have a smaller battery and might not cope with them? So anybody fitted them and also what make/model is recommended? Second question, as many people have commented on here, the headlight is pants. Is it upgradable to one of these hid type things? Or again am I risking the battery going 'I've had enough, I cant do this anymore!' ?

Im not the heaviest person in the world! There is obviously some very experienced riders on this forum and was wondering how best to cope with the wind? Speed up? Slow down? Lean into the wind? Thanks!

Got to within 100 yards of my house last night when my engine seized. Luckily I wasn't go to fast, still not a pleasant expeirence having the back lock up like that. Any recommendations for trustworthy mechanics in the South West London area? I suspect it's going to be expensive to get my bike back on the road :-(
