Just watched motorway cops on bbc1. I do find those programs entertaining (not the awful american cop shows tho!). But it pissed me off at the end, is there anypoint in wasting money on a police force, if what they do achieves sod-all. One chinese illegal imigrant got 3 points and £75 fine for no license. Anothe guy who fled the scene of a crash (which utilised several police units and closed one side of the motorway) got off scott-free as there was insufficient evidence and a guy in a nicked motor got a community sentence (probably didnt turn up) even though he nicked a car and caused a -mile tailback. A polish lorry drive who fucked a biker up, got charged with car…

Went out last monday nite, only to find the gritters had been out before me (Nottingham). I have been saying for some months that as soon as the gritters are out, my bike is coming off the road. So, last monday nites use was the last of the year. It is going to live at a friends in his mega shed, where some little tweaks are going to be made here and there. All being well, it will emerge in Spring with a new coat of paint (had it done in June, but it was a cack job, and already looks more tatty than the paint that was on it from new) and a slight performance BOOST. Got a 2001 ZX9R as a winter runabout. Its a boat! Much more suitable than a highly strung R6 is for cold, …

Hello everybody as the cold weather is getting closer we all know that vehicles act different, So i leave my house the other morning and it was the first frost of the year, after about 5 or 6 miles the bike gets up to temperature. Everytime i stop at traffic lights or roundabouts it stalled and i had to keep up the revs. The bike was idling at about 970 to 1050 rpm. So i thought there was a problem and called the yamaha dealer and they told me to turn up the idle screw and i did to about 1300 rpm and it's fine now glad it wasn't the TPS. has anyone else had this experience as it's not really much of a problem.dave p

  7. I am building a bare bones "Old Skool" street fighter from a 1982 400 seca its almost done while routing out through out the frame my question is what are the 2 square relays that mounted in rubber below the seat on the gastank brace ? I broke one of the wires going to one . as I will only have a headlight tail light and brake light trying to decide if I need it Thanks Tom

I'm Interested in buying an FZ1 Abs but don't know much about it other than the marketing bumf (oh and the fact that it looks like the sort of bike you could have some fun on). Am planning to use it mainly for town (London), weekends trips out of town and also touring next year (France/Spain). Don't laugh but originally had my heart set on a BMW. Any comments, suggestions, warnings welcome. Thanks, Justin

Hello all, can anyone give me a definitive answer to these questions? I have just bought a 1979 SR500,it came from S Africa in 1996,it has never been registered in the UK,I have the S African Logbook and a customs release form,I have spoken to DVLA but came away no wiser!apart from that I will be able to get an age related plate. As it is 30 years old do I need to get it (1) SVA'd or will an MOT be OK? (2) Will it require Type approval if so how do I get it? (3) What customs forms will I need if any? I have looked at the VOSA,C&E and DVLA websites, but they all give ambigious information! Thanks for any information (am pulling out what little hair I have left) …

How often should you clean your chain. Got a ybr thats a year old and the chain still looks well oiled.I spray chain lube on it after heavy rain but should i be taking the old clogged up oil off with a chain cleaner, applying new oil and lube to keep the chain in good nick or just wait till it really needs it and can see the first inkling of rust?
