Hello everybody, I'm new here and happy to join the Yamaha-lovers. I've just bought an XJ900 '83 (31A) this afternoon. It is in a terrible state now, but I'm hoping to get it restored to its former glory. For the moment I'm a bit confused, since all the pictures I can find on the net, have a square headlight whereas I have a round one. I have found an owner manual and there I can see the difference between the 900F (with square light and three gauges (speedo, tacho, fuel) and the 900 (round light and two gauges (speedo and tacho). Now, my bike has a round light and speedo, tacho and fuel gauges. Any information about the bike would be appreciated a lot. …

Just to update you all that we are now looking at ways to improve the site in terms of a more regular moderator presence to deal with any situations that may arise. I know there has been concerns in that area and the point is well taken. The situation is that a number of the original Mod team from 2003 no longer visit the site, so we now have to make changes to reflect this. And those of us who are still left have all had major changes in our circumstances over the years which have contributed to us spending less time on here than in the past. However, it's all going to change very soon! If any of you have any ideas for the site in terms of new sections etc then …

Hi there, can somebody please help me out here with the true year of manufacture of my XV750. On my log book it says first registered in UK 1998, but on the green slip on the right of the log book it says "declared manufactured 1989". I know this is an import. The engine no. is 3AL-009212 The chasis no. is JYA3ALEO7KA009212. Now according to some vin no. info, my machine was manufactured in 1993 not 1989............am I right or not please?? see attached photos If I'm right my Virago is younger than it states on the log book so I need to change the details with the DVLA. Thanks in advance Adrian

I have been searching endlessly for some alternative brand, style and tread patterns that will fit the Yamaha V-Star 1300, 2007. I am frustrated and irritated that the only ones I can find are the same ones that came on it. It seems the 16" rims are the rub here, but I do not want to have to buy new rims! It has to be some collusion between Bridgestone and Yamaha. It is starting to really anger me.

It is with sad regret to inform you that one of our forum members xs360 (peter) has passed away. he came back from America about a month ago with a chest infection which led to complications and had a heart attack. As well as his xs360, he was into the Z750 twins in a big way and was well respected in the Yorkshire village where he grew up. In fact at his funeral the whole Village attended. I wish his family my condolences may he rest in peace and gone to biking heaven!!
