Anybody had advanced timing issue with 80 to 83 XT250. Bike started to kick back when trying to start. Checked timing and it is way too far advanced. Timing is a little over two inches distance on flywheel advanced. All source coil and pulse coils check good. Any possibility CDI unit has just shot craps? Please let me know if you have seen this issue. Have checked position of crank. "T" mark lines up when at TDC.

Seasons greetings, peeps! Was wandering there was some 'murican friendos out there who could help me with shipping... Been on the US Ebay and found a set of fork legs which I need to get my new chappy up and running, but the guy won't ship internationally :(, was wondering if there was anyone out there who could act as an intermediate and take delivery of these forks and forward them on to me?. I'm out in Arizona for a final piss up next year before I leave the services, but kinda want to get it done before then. Beer tokens will be awarded ofc!

Hi guys, am fixing up a bike - took off old indicators (single wire) and swapped out for new twin wire indicators. Have connected the positive wire up but the negative is needing a place to be ground to. For the rear two I have ground to the frame but as for the front pair, well there not going to reach the frame. What do I do? Can I ground the wires to the forks or do I have to extend the wires to the frame..? Any ideas greatly appreciated. happy riding, Louis

Hi guys, I was on my way to work the other day - bike was running the best she's ever ran and 5 mins later she was losing a bit of power, then engine started sounding rough and next conked out making the most horrible noise ever from the engine. Engine was extremely overheated, kickstart is stuck at top and electric start won't turn over. Anyone any ideas all the best n happy riding, Louis

I brought a project bike and,as it had spent all of it's life in a seaside town ,it had a badly rusted frame...when it came back from the blasters the bottom rails where like swiss cheese with lots of horrible bodge welding all over it...pretty certain it was out of alignment too. So I brought a s/h frame with number and v5,all legit...if I rebuild all parts onto fresh frame which v5/reg do I use?...the original bikes because the majority of parts have come from it?.. or the replacement frame?...unable to get a definitive answer from dvla at the moment but will try again.

Hi guys, I want to change the rear tyre of my YBR 125, it's way too thin and I want to get a wider one. I will change the rear tyre and put in in the front, buying a new tyre for the back. What is the maximum size you think I can get? I tried a 100/90 and it fits, do you think a 110/90 will fit or it's too large for the rim?

Ok, so this is a long shot, seeing as how rare BT1100's seem to be in our fair land, but, mine has developed a rather annoying fault and I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar. As I'm riding, especially as I accelerate, the oil and fuel warning lights come on briefly followed by the pre-start needle sweep of the speedo and tacho. There's no effect on the engine or lights, everything seems to be fine, I've checked oil levels etc, spot on......! What's going on? My old faithful seems to be possessed by evil electrical demons, maybe an exorcism will sort it, but more likely a component replacement, if only I knew where to look.

Hi guys, This is actually the first time ever my bike has refused to start! So I stick choke on, start her up, she'll tick over fine for about 3-4 seconds then suddenly cut out.. Last night I was going to do a valve clearance adjustment - took all the timing caps etc off then realized my feeler gauge is all rusted and I can't see the numbers so I stuck all the caps back on and left her. Do you think this could in some way be related to my problem? All help grately appreciated. Happy riding, Louis

Some information before I get to the problem. So I crashed my motorcycle about 2 weeks ago. I hit a curb doing 40ish on a new road I wasn't used to. Got thrown from my bike, most of the damage was to the front and left side. Luckily I was ok. At the time I had a toggle switch on the bike, that came out when I crashed however. When I got it from the tow company the front brake lever had no resistance to it. So I took it off. My fairings were gone instrument cluster was gone. One of my exhausts was hanging off the bike. I got it home washed it up fixed what I could. I replaced the throttle tube and the start/kill switch (the old one was destroyed in the crash) I took t…

I've been thinking about nearning to change my own tyres (why not, right?). But I have one huge issue, I lack an air compressor (or at least one with enough balls to seat the bead), meaning that I can get a tyre onto a rim but I can't seat the bead on the rim. But, I can do a tube tyre because the tube does the job for me once I inflate it. Now I need to know if I can put a tube tyre on a tubless rim, I can't really see any reason why I wouldn't be able to do it, but I could be missing something. (Also I SOMEHOW managed to put my shreaded engine back together again and it runs! Unfortunately my bank account hates me and the parts department of my local Yam dealer …
