Hi just returned for a run out done about 250KM on my Dragstar 1100 & noticed a slight oil leak from the front of the engine. Not cleaned the engine & checked exactly where it si coming from but it look like its either the head gasket or from the plate behind the exhaust front pipe at the front of the engine . My question is is the head gasket prone to leaking ? the bikes only done 33,000 KM ? Answers to ease my fears. Is the head gasket a difficult job to replace on the front head please? anyone help ? hope so cya Bill

So as is usual I was having a quick look through what EBAY had to offer and came across an advert for an 2007 FJR1300 engine, that looks cheap I thought and bunged in a bid for £99, of course I was thinking I have no chance of getting that for that price! The fella selling it was local to me and he strips and sells car engines for a living, you know the sort, your engine goes pop and you can't be arsed to repair it yourself so you plump for an EBAY special which probably came out of a worse car than yours. Anyway the FJR engine is complete with all the gubbins included electrics and mechanicals. So I wait around all day and bugger me I got it! The cheapest engine I have e…

Hi, I just joined the forum. I ride out from East London and I am exploring as much as I can. I passed my test last summer and I bought my first bike back in Sept '16, a lovely blue Tracer 700 and I have done 3k+ miles and I am loving it. As the bike I bought is a new model I set-up an owner's page and group on Facebook specifically for the Tracer 700. So if you have one yourself please feel free to join us... We plan on arranging a meet up later this summer, most likely in/around Brighton. Page https://www.facebook.com/Tracer700UK/ Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/Tracer700UK/

Hello, I recently acquired a partially disassembled 1965 YM1. I'm working through what i'll need to get it up and running and my current hurdle is the petcock. Mine is missing the internal filter screen and the two copper pipes with their filter screen with the pipes being broken off at the base. So far I've found 1 replacement on ebay listed at $250 which seems to much to be paying. Are there any cheaper alternatives or kits to rebuild my part?

Hi all, can anyone offer an idea of why I find it almost impossible to find neutral when the bike is at a standstill? On paddock stands it's fine, not running it's fine but put me on it at a standstill in traffic there ain't no way...! I adjusted the gear shift (the Elephant Man must have been a previous owner as that's the only thing that would explain the size of the boots that would have shifted it adjusted like it was), chain slack, bled the clutch, changed the oil - semi-synthetic - but neutral is a no-go area. I thought it may have been as the bike stood over the winter and probably didn't do many miles over the previous few years but after 100 miles or s…

I am having trouble kick starting and bumping my DT.so I have decided to check the timing, but this has baffled me. I connected my Clock (DTI) to the plug hole and found TDC. and set the clock to zero.I then rotated the flywheel clockwise until it was 2mm advanced on the clock.I then rotated the flywheel anti clockwise by 0.2 so that the clock read 1.8mm.At this point according to the Haynes manual the mark on the crankcase which I think is at about the one oclock position and just above the bolt which holds the plate on should line up the the middle of the 3 lines on the flywheel. I followed this procedure and the middle line on the flywheel was at about the ele…

Hi all - I'm new to this club. I’m riding a YBR125 since 2012 and like 'making good progress’ within the given limitations. I have a full licence, and have ridden bigger bikes, one of them a Divvy, but have now downsized. I’m a fit 78 (lots of cycling!), male, not looking for any kind of relationship except company on the road. May 15-25 or October 04-14 would seem good options to avoid the midges. Interested?

Hi all, so, I've had my frame powder coated and therefore my frame numbers are very faint so I am having a VIN plate made up, one of the boxes on the VIN plate requires the KW power output, on my logbook it states 307KW but this seems high to me as when I google it it says it only has 10.8KW at 7000rpm, I obviously don't want to stamp incorrect information, can anyone help please?? Bike is a 2004 Yamaha DTRE 125cc
