I am new to this forum. I have been really interested in buying a used Yamaha R6, any year. I know that people wreck on these things all the time. What are the most important things I should look out for when looking at used R6's? Any advice would be super appreciated. As an example, I saw this bike, but I don't know about it... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&a...d=4&cat=144 Thanks!

Hi there, my names brian and i just bought my first bike, a Yamaha ybr125. a shiny brand new 09 model, direct from dealer. anyway, i thought i'd say hi to all, and say a little about me. 32 yrs old, and lived around bikes my whole life, with relatives and friends owning them. having had the bug for years, i finally got one after many a week research, and got in my view the best 125 around. such a sweet bike, i love it already i would include a pic of my bike, the day i bought it, but computers are my brothers thing, and il have to get him to show me how lol. glad to be here guys and ladies. and hope to be here for a long while

Hi there all! New to this forum, just passed my cbt last week, always loved bikes but conceded to the practicality of a car at 17. Im now 21 and trying to get insurance on a 2007 ybr, only second driver as my dads also using it as a runaround but no one wants to let me get on the roads for under £370 TPFT!!!!! For a bike that barely reaches 60 am i in a dream world or is that price realistic? Any advice from you more experienced bikers on good companies that you can negotiate down or are cheep for my age/experience group would be highly appreciated! Thanks guys CJ

I am not sure if this subject has been covered on here before but I think it is worth a bit of discussion (or to be ignored if that’s what people want) so I will vent anyway. Seeing how the Government is always banging on about climate change and we need to exude fewer emissions I would have thought that they would want to encourage more people into biking. Any motorbike will have less impact on the environment than any car (excluding electric vehicles) so why put barriers in the way? Let’s look at the CBT. This was basically introduced as a cycling proficiency test to make sure that youngsters don’t buy a bike and get splashed as soon as they go out on the road…

hey, I'm new to motorbiking and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good websites that discuss/review motorbike clothing and/or helmets - particularly in terms of protective ability. Also, in particular, any advise on helmets is welcome. cheers!

Hello , It was recommended to me to use paraffin from a friend for getting the muck and oil splatter off the wheels on my new r6. It worked amazingly but.. i don't remember him telling me that i must clean the tyres quickly after, incase the remaining parraffin makes contact with the tyres. Now i am left with 4 blue lines round each side on my tyres! I have a track day booked for Monday and i am now informed from this friend that if thats the paraiffin set into the tyres they will fail to grip! This is going to mean more £££'s which one is lacking! Please give me your advice!!!!!! Thanks, Arran arranpowellAThotmail.com
