Hey folks! Sorry not been posting on here much recently, jobhunting was a pain but back to work now which is much better. Anyway - added another Yam to the stable last week when i bought my oldest son a PW50 for his upcoming birthday! Looked around usual sources (ebay, gumtree etc) & found one tucked away in a womans garage. Usual story, kids outgrown blah blah blah. It was a bit rough cosmetically but started on the first kick. So i gave her buttons for it & brought it home! Nice parcel of bits arriving tomorrow to fix any issues & tidy the cosmetics but still works out as a bargain. Hope junior likes it - but he's already bike mad so fingers c…

Hi! I recently purchased an XS 650 from a guy that was trying his hand at disassembling and reassembling his toys. He got the dissassemble part right, but fell short of the reassemble. I'm putting the thing back together, and have recently sent the tank out for paint and some minor ding repair. (I got a sweet deal) I'm new to the forum.... and to reassembly. Anything I should know before I go too far? He reassured me all the parts are here, but he isn't sure if the tank was factory. Thanks! cosmo-

  5. . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . Hello I am new here my name is ... Karen Agusta . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . Because I know "just a little" about motorcycles and the fact that An engine is essentially an air pump of a combustible mixture Regarding air - it is not "sucked" or "pulled" into the engine There are no little hands reaching out grabing air molecules Air may only be pushed into an engine it is never pulled into one The air pressure at sea level is 14.7 pounds per square …

Hi all 1st post Well after many years have now decided to do my bike test. Do I need to go to a training school or can I book my test myself and just do it ? I have been riding for a while now and have watched many videos of the mod 1 and 2 and I feel I am ready for the test. I want to take it on my ybr 125 custom and then get a 400cc, then after 2 years go bigger again. Hope all this makes sence Many Thanks Dave

well was out on my xj yesterday and when i had to stop couldn't change down gear because my foot kept slipping off the gear shift from all the oil that was saturating my engine, jeans, boots, rear wheel. a piston ring has gone by the looks of it as when the engine was hot enough the oil was coming back through the air box like a running tap. that combined with needing a new exhaust and rear tyre actually means it would cost more to fix the bike up for mot next week than it would to buy another bike...... dilema..... i cant find a yamaha i can afford right now......... so the temporary optins are mot my nsr 125 or but a gsxr750 for £500

  10. A guy goes into a seafood restaurant and asks to see the dishes of the day. The waiter wheels over a trolley and the man examines the dishes. "I'll have the little green squid with the hairy lip, please" says the man. "O.K." replies the waiter and calls out "Gervais!" A little French chef appears with a large knife, the waiter instructs the chef to kill the little green squid with the hairy lip. Gervais is just about to slice at the poor squid when he notices a tear running down its face. Gervais is touched, and admits that he hasn't the heart to kill the squid. "Not to worry" says the waiter, and calls out "Hans!!" at which an enormous German bloke co…

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum, and I am new to owning a DT and so far I have had a nightmare with the bike. I brought the bike of someone for a good price, and the bike look well presented, and well looked after. The bike is a 1995 DT125 and has done about 11,000 miles. The problem I am currently suffering is that the bike accelerates OK, but when it hits the power valve the engine makes the sound of the sudden power increase but there is no noticeable power increase. I thought that it would be the clutch plates but there was no clutch slip 2 days ago before this problem? A few days ago the bike overheated and one of the radiator pipes had been loose so…

Is there a reason for this I know the clutch is disengaging correctly what else could be causing this? Thanks Guys

Right the XS400 is 99.9999% done now and it`s time to get it MOT`d taxed and insured (he says hopefully) when i first got this, it was a pile of dismantled junk, pretending to be a couple of 250`s and a 400 engine. now it almost looks and goes like a bike . i put the 400 lump in the 250 and we went about getting it to go, and after a friends magic touch and a lot of his knowledge we have a bike thats ready to go back on the road. so i know i have to inform DVLA..... is that via the log book when i take it off sorn? will i have to have it inspected because the engine capacity has changed. can i ride it to the MOT station by prior appointment, even though i hav…
