this bloke was in the pub and he had a shiner. His mates asked how he got it, this is his story..... Me and the wife are shopping in the local Asda I pick up a case of Beer and puts it in the trolley. 'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife. I said'They're on sale, only £10 for 24 cans. she say's, 'Put them back, we can't afford them , and so they carry on shopping. A few aisles further on along the wife picks up a £20 jar of face cream and puts it in the trolley. I said, "What do you think you're doing?" 'Its my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife. 'So does 24 cans of Beer and it's half the price. And that's wh…

I am glad that I found this site. I purchased my 2009 VStar 1300 Tourer on 3 July 2010 after completing the H-D "Basic Rider's Course" with less than a mile on the odometer. It now has 1562 miles on its odometer. I did not ride one week end and have not ridden since 8 August 2010 because of surgery to repair a torn triceps tendon. I can proudly say that my VStar 1300 is awesome! Take care, Chris Stevens http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages#!/photo.php?pid=693009&id=1681912380&ref=fbx_album

Hi, new member here though long time lurker!! Having just passed my Direct Access test I am looking at moving on from my current Honda 125VT Shadow and having been a long admirer of Yamaha bikes I have come across a 1999 'T' Yamaha YZF 600R Thundercat for sale at a local dealer for £2,195. The bike has done about 22k miles and having had a quick look one lunchtime seems to be in relatively good condition. Having read up on the bike over the last few days the general consensus seems to be that the bike is a realtively good 600 sports/tourer with little in the way of mechanical problems. What I am asking of you good people is, does anyone here have a list of things t…

Hya folks, I've been riding and tinkering with bikes ,scooters and cars since 1964. I've already had some excellent advice from the "workshop" forum but have ommited to make my formal introduction through this section. So I'll APOLOGISE to everyone for my bad manners and hope you'll forgive my a***e about face intro. Many thanks to Paul (O.G.O.A.B.) for his "sage advice" regarding my starter switch troubles, (still working on that one, domestic duties intervened) I hope to be a regular visitor/contributor to the forums and if I can help in any way I will. Modern bike electrics sometimes baffle me my Beeza's only had 6 wires and I regularly made up new wir…

All the best shiny side up.

Hi again folks, I just thought I'd update you on the progress of the little Yam Thanks go to Chris66, for info on forks, now sorted and fitted with new seals :-) By the way, I must say I found it strange that you gave the size of the bi-hexagon damper tube top, in "imperial" (ie. 5/8") when the bike is Japanese and mainly metric sizing, but I did manage to get them out with a length of 8mm studding and some 13mm nuts. they were a bit sloppy and would have been better with 14mm. But as I'm not planning on doing them again anytime soon I'm quite chuffed that the job is now done Thanks too to Paul (O.G.O.A.B.) for his invaluable input regarding the re-soldering of…
