  1. Just had a off and back from the hosiptal. Am ok my knee is a bit fooked and my jeans and lid are finished. My jacket dont have a mark on it but my arm is brused and cut - dont understand this!! Going down a country road near my house enjoying the ride took a slight right hand bend aound 40mph and hit a lots of gravel on on the exit. Down i go bike rh fairing is done so in the indicator and the rh engine cover case oil all over the road. Took a walk back and realised how much gravel was on the road... loads. On further inspection i saw a big pile on the road side that had just been left from road works that had spilled on the road. Is it the councils fault? If so wh…

Ok, I'm really at the end of my tether with my damn FZ400. Starts ok. Runs ok, ticks over ok. Rides ok. After about 3/4 mile - cuts out, won't re-start. Leave it a couple of hours - restarts ok, runs once again and then does it again. Checked the petrol, not a problem, getting through fine. Checked the carbs as much as I can, seem ok. Someone suggested the coils - just ran it around a little while until it cut out, checked for a spark - yup, no problem there, spark to all 4 plugs. Had it idling in the garage for a while before it cut out today - not long before it happened she started sounding as though she was missing a cylinder, but just every now and t…

The US ( and Aus ) standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England, and English expatriates designed the US railroads. Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the gauge they used. Why did 'they' use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing. Why did the wago…

When running at idle and low rpm in traffic or pulling away, my thundercat runs rough, splutters and has little power. It happens when the throttle is just cracked open. Once through this and opened up its fine. I believe it started when i left it standing over winter ( I put it down to petrol gone off) I have cleaned out carbs, checked sync, changed plugs and checked for air leaks, all to no avail. Has anyone had similar problems? Is there anything else I could try?? Thanks - rosie

Hi Guys/Gals, I am new to the world of bikes after spending many years and money on sports/performance cars! I have recently passed my Mod 1 bike test and have got my mod 2 in the next week. I have already been biten by the biking bug! I'm just after a bit of advice on my first bike purchase. Im 29 yrs old and have been looking at some nice 07 plate r6's. I know that these are high performance bikes but have had mixed advice from my mates who own bikes. Some have said get a fazer/hornet to start with whilst others have said go for the r6 because I will only end up changing bikes after a short period of time because I will end up bored of a fazer/hornet and potentiall…

Okay, I'm not going to say who is arguing what point but here are both sides. Side A ) Buy a cheap bike, learn how to ride on that bike, sell bike, buy wanted bike. Side B ) Simply buy the bike you want, and learn how to ride on that. What do you think?
