Just wondering whats the story on these Iridium plugs ! 1) do the last longer ? 2) do they give better performance ? 3) are they easier on the engine ?,,,,,eg. less strain on creating spark or is it more strain ? 4) do they reduce fouling ? 5) do they reduce fuel consumption ? Ive here different stories about these plugs and was wondering what the real story is ! Four plugs = €30 they would want to do something magical !

Chaps, As a fairly free thinking group, I'd like your opinion on this. Recently there was a report on the BBC news about a bike thief who died while riding, and crashing a stolen bike without a helmet on. On another forum I posted the link and made a comment that I had no sympathy for him, and also, in my opinion the police should persure these people with extreme prejudice. Now these comments caused one or two responses, mostly in agreement, along the lines of 'what goes around comes around', and 'thieving scum deserve all they get' However, one or two people found this post, and the comments 'obscene' I have tried to understand thier opinion, but so far …

Just a quick post to say hello to everyone on here! My names Joel, I'm 21 and I am from Oxford. My main ride is a Triumph Daytona 955i 99' but I am currently building a custom Yamaha cafe racer. I have joined the forums just to see what other people are up to, in terms of bikes that is. I have some cool ideas of customs I would like to build around Yamaha's and over time I hope to hear some opinions. Just a bit of background info, I worked in F1 for 5 years and I am about to start studying physics at university. Best regards to everyone, Joel

Hi all, just bought myself a black / silver 2006 DT125R SM. Less than 3000 miles on the clock. This is my first ever bike. Still not rode it as it's on the reserve and I need to get a wee petrol can to put some juice into it. It's got a DEP exhaust and a front brembo brake. Will get some pictures up tomorrow and hopefully be taking my first ride!

This was something that poped into my head whilst on the road. Its primarily aimed at the 'Squires Crew' but its just a thought at the minute open to comment. I was thinking that we are all over the country, which can be a bit of an issue, like Blackhat and BWJ in that wet cold bit on the top and Merv getting drunk on cheap cider down south. What if, a big if at the moment the YOC did a top to bottom run. The old end to end jobbie. Maybe call it the smokey way down or something. And sorry i don't mean with the big old FJ's etc that could blast it in a day probably. I mean the old smokeys 250's 400's etc like we had at Squires to give it a bit of a spin. Maybe h…

Hey Everyone - I'm new so be gentle. I have a 1981 Exciter 250 with only 2,700 miles. It sat in a garage for almost 10 years but started right up after I put oil in it, a new spark plug, and creamed the tank. It runs great through all the gears. But it has a loud tapping sound that's hard to locate. I adjusted the cam chain tensioner and valves according to repair manual specs. Does anyone know if this is typical of this bike? Any ideas or remedies? Thanks. DMoney

Hi all. Newbie here. I am restoring my 1974 TY250 (I bought it new) I would like to swap out the standard 428H chain and sprockets for a 520 size. Is this a common modification? How do I go about this? If I don't do this mod is there a source for standard sprockets? I am thinking of close to original gearing of 14/52. Thanks for any advice. I am located in Melbourne Australia.
