hi guys, looking a bit of help here, i have a 1987 yamaha fz 600 air cooled bike, seems that the piston rings have give way on me as its spurting out oil through the crankcase breather pipe, would anybody be able to tell me what other engine would fit into this frame, ive been told a 1000 exup engine would fit, just looking to see if amy others would also, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Just took delivery of my Hood ND4 jeans, along with the armour inserts - very impressed with the build quality, they are very long for a pair of jeans but I'm assuming that's so that when you're sitting on the bike they're not halfway up your leg. Anyway, I thought maybe some of you might have been thinking about getting a pair of armoured jeans, if you want to know anything about them let me know. Cheers JK

I have a 2001 fazer 600 with only 18,500 miles on the clock. I recently went to start the bike, but when I did, I found that the rev counter and Odo were not working (the words ODO, where in the top right of the LCD screen).I did however have the 2 trip meters and the digital clock. After speaking to a local bike repair shop, I was told that it would be cheaper to replace the clocks with 2nd hand onces, as having a diagnostic done on the old set was costly, and he had heard that the fazer 600 had an inherant problem with the electronics in the clocks. Hi everyone im stil new to this site and i duno if ive posted this in the right place (: Right i have a YBR125cc 59 plate havent realy done much to it apart from rim tape and stickers i was going to leave it as that but i wanted it to sound a little bit deeper with a nice tone i custom made and exhaust for mine mainly for sound but now im looking at the power side of things the exhaust is pritty much hollow so its letting out enough air and i took the air filter and the cover of the air box for a while to drive about and see if that helps and it didnt realy just badly smelt of petrol (rich) so ive stuck it back on but i have brought a fancy air filter and removed …

i was welding Friday morning and my new mask was too dark for me to see to start the arc properly, so like a dick i was starting my welds off with no eye protection. thought i had got away with it but 10 hours after i had finished my eyes started to hurt like mad and the whites turned red like in a warewolf film. ended up at moorfields eye hospital in london with burnt corneas, just starting to get my sight back today. just thought i would post this to give you all a laugh and perhaps stop someone else being as stupid.

Just thought I'd share my first real 'idiot moment' that I had today. 5pm, bikes warmed up ready to leave work and the workshop floor's wet as it's peeing down near Old Trafford. Gets on the bike and about to leave. My right foot slipped enough on the wet floor to put me off balance and my rather weighty FZR (around 181kg I think) starts to go over. I fought hard to keep it up but it beat me in the end. To make matters worse, as it went down, I couldn't help but rev it so everyone was alerted to my antics in time to see me drop the bugger! So i went for a ride today in the hills, about a halfhour from me, a place called woodhead (aka snake pass) and i could hear that my bike was louder, so i stopped and realized the usual exhuast sound wasnt coming from the end of the exhuast, instead theres a hole at the start of my pipe so it sounds a tad loud, well it did anyway

Can anyone tell me if FZX fork yolks will fit my FZ 750, or any other yolk that would fit to raise handlebars above yolks (as i want to street me bike). Or even another set of forks/yolks that fit straight on. Are R6 or R1 compatible ? Also i want to change rear end & improve suspension & fit wider tire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a problem with my son's (restricted) 535S Virago and I've torn out virtually all the hair I have left in trying to solve it - so I hope someone out there can help: 1997 535S twin carbs and everything bog standard apart from the restrictor. 1. Original fault was not starting after a lay-off over last winter: Stripped down the carbs and changed the petrol pump because the pump wasn't 'ticking'. It was neither of those but the bike started after that - first go as I recall. 2. Now starting OK but:- Poor performance - no power and wouldn't go much above 50 mph in any gear. i was riding my yb100 saw a ferrari and knocked it down a gear instead of up it made a horrible noise and started backfiring and lagging cant think of any word to describe it when i am going along it pulls back for less than a second the stops for another half sec then does it again. left it for a bit not backfiring but at 40ish the bike does the lagging thing just wondered if you knew what it could be maybe thanks webi edit: i can actually physically feel it pulling back is this misfiring?

Hello all, New member here, have just bought my first bike after much deliberation - decided in the end to go the sensible route and so I am starting with a Dragstar 125. It's a great-looking bike considering its engine size imo, I'm not too fussed about speed at this stage I'd rather get to where I'm going in one piece. Hey guys, Firstly, appologies for spelling mistakes, secondly... can anyone tell me the advantage/disadvantages for removing the catalitic converter on my xj6? from what i understand if i remove it it will sound a little bit louder and give me slightly better mpg... but will i have any sort of insurance problems / testing problems in a couple years when it gets to MOT time? just wanted to know a bit about it all really.. thanks

Don't you hate it when you haven't been a able to ride for a while, and you have a day with nice weather, but you go out to start the bike...dead battery. There are downsides to having a security system on your bike.

iv got a 05 dt 125re,this model dosnt hav a kick start jus a big plastic bung wer it should be.. the bike rarely started on de electric start and now ders not a kick out of it.. dnt mind de electric start, i converted it to a kick start the other day and it still dosnt start. wen i kick it it sorta feels like thers no compression, yet wen i start the bike on the run by poppin de clutch it goes like a rocket no shortage of power.. aswell the kick seems to hav a reali short stroke.. reali tho it seems like theres fuk all compression, but there obviously is if its runnin so well.. so anyone hav any ideas or suggestions? also i read on some other post dat someone else had sim…

hello i have a 1988 yb100 deluxe model i read a post on here that says the silencer should weigh half a kilo but mine ways nearer 3 kilos just wondered if this is right or not the baffle has also been cut down by the previous owner would this affect performance as i am only getting 40-45 out of this bike i am quite heavy though i weigh about 17-18 stone. all help is apreciated cheers webi
