Evening, chaps. Sorry it's been a while...I have been popping in and reading what you've all been up to. Couldn't make The Squires for reasons I'll go into in a minute, but the video and the pics look brilliant. A good time seems to have been had by all... Anyways...couldn't get to my MOT on the Friday evening as I had to work, so booked it in for 9am on Saturday. Got up really early and was going to take it for a long ride first. Obviously I really WAS on my way to the testing station, officer...but the fecker wouldn't start. It was turning over nicely but just wouldn't catch or fire up at all. Got my crosser/mechanic neighbour to have a look and we decided to chan…

Hi Everyone On Sunday I was privileged to go on my first Ryans Ryde what an amazing Day and a great cause last year they reckon 2500 bikers were on the run this year they say there were more it was a day I will never forget it started on Hopwood Services Junction2 of M42 and ended in the Beams Pub in Stourport Which incidentally is my local (how lucky is that) it was a marshaled event so no stopping at traffic lights, roundabouts or Junctions. There were some awesome Bikes and Scooters there and although I was only on my little 125 I never at any stage felt out of place If it runs again next year its a run not to miss. Thanks to all the Marshals and o…

Alright lads! My names is Kevin, nicknamed as Bunney as its my surname. I live in Cork City, Ireland. I'm 16.. I drive a Yamaha Aerox YQ50 not many of them where I live. It's white in colour, Since I bought it I had nothing but trouble. Heres a list of what I replaced since I bought it, Top end (Pistons,Rings,Head,Barrel and all gaaskets) Water pump and Flywheel. Brakes twice (Driving it a bit hard I think) Front Disc Drive Belt Clutch springs. I'm looking for a bit of information on my aerox, I want to tune it up for as cheap as possible, I heard something about taking out every second Roller? Also heard tighter springs for the clutch. I would c…

Most of us ride as long as we can and then put our bikes away once the temperature starts to drop, but some die hards ride even when the temperature drops below freezing. The attached link takes you to a wind chill table that shows the wind chill (riding temperature) at various speeds and various temperatures. A bit of advice for all you riders from Scotland...wear long johns under yer kilt, eh! Rocky www.eol.ucar.edu/homes/rilling/wc_table.html

Greetings, I have an issue with cylinders one and four not firing on my 1886 FZX700 Fazer w/ Brand new NGK DP8EA-9 plugs. I suspected the Left Coil was bad since it is responsible for both one and four. In order to eliminate the left as a variable I swapped the Left Coil w/ the Right Coil (at the same time pulled all the plug wire caps) and connected them to their respective original sequence. (Left Bank Outside to #4 - Inside to #1) (Right Bank Inside to #3Outside to #2) The results were cylinders one and four still not firing. So I have eliminated the coil as the culprit. I am going to go change everything back to its respective place but thought I would see if anyon…

Ello all... Now I probably know the answer to this question but wanted to pick the massive brains on here anyway. Well I purchased a 1999 Thundercat last week, all was fine until Friday on the way to work. Whilst going round a roundabout it popped out of second and made an awul mechanical noise - sort of noise that a chain rattling against something would make. Immediately thought - un oh its the infamous 2nd gear problem! On my test ride before purchase I checked as well as I could for this, accelerated hard in 2nd and no problems. Well it hasnt fallen out of gear again since but has been a bit "clunky" changing into 2nd from 1st (no problems going down from 3rd tho…

Hi everyone Been a while since I was last on here and I wish this post could be of a more upbeat nature but unfortunately not I rode my bike up to my house in Newcastle on Sunday from Northants (which was a mighty fun trip of A and B roads, being still on L plates and all that so no motorways ) Anyway I was woken up on Monday morning by my housemate telling me some scrote had broken in and stolen it from our backyard in the Heaton district (it had been there less than 12 hours...) The Police came round but didnt seem to hopeful about recovering it. Just wanted to advertise it on here incase anyone in the Newcastle area sees it around (I've already posted it…

New member just saying hello. Been browsing the forums and you all seem like a friendly bunch! Coming to biking pretty late in life but better tat than never, I suppose. Got my first bike on Monday at the tender age of 38...that's me, not the bike. Looking forward to getting out and about once MOT is sorted. Maybe I'll catch some of you on a ride out soon. Cheers!

Hi, folks! I've been lurking here on and off for a while and thought I'd better say hello before posting anything else. My name is Duggy and I ride a blue 1990 RXS100. I have a car licence and CBT to allow me to ride it. I originally got it to save money on the daily commute (15 miles each way) but am loving it so much I ride whenever I can now! I bought it at the end of last year for a tenner off a work colleague. His wife thought he'd most likely kill himself and wanted him to get rid of it. It was a bit of a wreck but just about ran and stopped with a bit of luck so I started about getting it fixed up. I'm not bad with car stuff but not having a bi…

Yesterday while heading to town a bird flew across the road and hit my my handle bars just below the right mirror. I can only imagine what the result would have been if it had hit me. It's tough enough having to watch out for cars...now the birds are after us too!
