Anyone ever been doing something, and needed to nip somewhere fast or do something fast and the tools available for them wasn't there? I was thinking earlier about toothpaste, and its use as a chrome polish. Has anyone else got any uses for random everyday stuff, that comes in real handy in the workshop or on the move? Anything at all, substitutes for bike care items would be great. 1. Toothpaste - Chrome/Metal Polish 2. Tampon/Screw Driver - Gets at oil in hard to reach places 3. Vinegar/Soda Crystals/Lemon Juice - Eats off rust, ready to paint! 4. Aluminium Foil/Coke - Removes rust/marks and polishes chrome. 5. WW2 issue P-38 Can Opener or Dough - Dont…

Hi everyone, Sorry that the site has been down without any explanation. It's completely my fault, I thought the upgrade I was performing was going to be a typical 15min job. As it was late at night in the UK, I didn't think anyone would be on the site so just started the upgrade without setting the board offline. Which explains why the board is down. Unfortunately it wasn't a quick upgrade like normal, and ended up taking about 12 hours work! Anyway I am also in the process of installing some new anti spam software to work alongside the existing IPB spam software which should help eradicate the unwanted spam users we've been getting over the last few days. Tha…

Hey folks!! As the regulars know, I've a huge soft spot for FZRs & have had a couple! Well, my daily trawl through the local classifieds has unearthed a cheap 3HE in decent shape, needs a little cosmetic tlc but apparently starts & runs well. I can feel a purchase & project coming on! Just gotta convince the wife it's a good idea....

Hi Guys, My '89 DT125R has been standing for about 4 years before I got it. I have cleaned the carb fully and also cleaned the air filter. There is a bolt which wont come out on my DEP exhaust end so cant check whether the exhaust is coked up. Is it worth getting some de-coke solution to try and clean her out a bit, atm she doesn't run very well past 7k rpm and im thinking maybe she all gummed up insdie (oo-err). If they are worth trying can someone recommend a good de-coking solution to try? Is this stuff any good? :http://www.ecotek.eu/PowerBoost.htm Cheers in advance

Hi, I have recently aquired a 2000 xj600s diversion which does not have any illumination to the dash area for the speedo and tacho. All other bulbs are working ie, headlight, indicators etc. What type of bulb do i need, how many, and are they easy to replace. Is it likely its a bulb or a fuse which may be the cause? Many Thanks Marc
