Hi all, have a read at this post please, and chip in with your notion of pro's and con's, its spreading so keep an eye on a forecourt near you, personaly I think it could turn a whisper into a shout, The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, the oil companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase. See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 1.50 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain…

Hi all, Been reading up on clutches and oils, forum after forum people are cursing at doodz for using synthetic oil. I hear screams of slippage and ruined clutches. I have used synthetic/ester based oil now in all the bikes Ive had, all wet clutch and have no problem with synthetic based oil at all. Both road and dirt bikes are absoulutly fine with them. People are under the misconception that its the quality of the oil that creates slippage, they claim, that due to its greater protection qualities, synthetic is too slick for a firm clutch operation.. I do not believe they are right, anyone who has done an ounce of reading on this should have come accr…

Motorcyclists account for 1% of all road traffic in the UK, but shockingly account for 20% of fatalities. What is even scarier is that prospective car drivers can currently pass their test without answering a single motorbike-related question. Bennetts are launching a Government petition to ensure bike-related questions are made compulsory in all UK driving tests. To have this matter raised in the House of Commons 100,000 signatures are required. We need your help. Please sign the petition now: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/26272 and share this link with your family and friends.

Hi folks! In my last post I mentioned I was looking for a new project. Well, just paid the deposit on my new baby! I've bought a Honda VFR400 NC30. Its got a full Tyga fairing kit, seat unit etc. Been sitting for a while but runs, so hopefully a good service, clean fuel & degunked carbs should sort that. Paintwork isn't to my liking so that'll be getting redone too, but that's the fun of a project - stamping your own personality on it. Can't wait to get it home, probably be the weekend at the earliest but I'm so pleased!

I have an 88 FZ600 that needs two new mirrors and I was wondering if Yamaha designed any other bikes with the same mounting arrangement that my bike has. Also does anybody have experience with any aftermafket mirrors?

After my YB100 was written off, I've had a courtesy YBR125 which was very nice indeed TYVM. Last week I decided to get a replacement bike and had the choice of this for a grand or this which wasn't 80 miles away and has only got 8 miles on the clock and still got 10 months warranty. I didn't fancy riding from Southend to Margate in this weather so I went for the custom (which I'll be picking up in the morning). I will probably still be asking my self if I did the right move in years to come. Ho Hum, next step is getting a wind-shield and hand guards. Ebay, bike store or stealers??

Hi Everyone, I have bought a 1981 XT250 for $360 off ebay that is a non starter. I have no knowledge of the history of the bike but it doesn't look like it has started for a long time and it has been maintained using bodge methods. I have a clymer manual and enthusiasm. Problems: Kick starter has no decompression cable. Cam chain tensioner is missing. The timing was completely off. The electrics have been messed with. Indicators / brake light have been removed, only remaing light is the headlight. In general look butchered. No battery. Sticking clutch - my intuition says this might fix itself once the engine warms up and has been running for a little while. The most…

Me again... I’ll try and keep this post to a minimum, me and a mate decided to go for a bit of a run over to thetford forest to go visit a friend who is recovering from a motorbike incident he had a few months back. When we got their we were welcomed in to his humble abode only to find what looked like thousands of photographs of various motorbikes he has owned over the years scattered over the coffee table. Five hours later, all three of us are smack bang in memory lane reminiscing about our past and present bikes. I bet there’s one or two of you on this forum that have found there selves doing the same thing, so if anybody feels like joining in with this post come…

  18. Hello everybody, Well, I'm new to the forum so be patient and read few lines of intro and then e few question to which I hope to find the answers. I'm 29, and recently came up with the idea to ride again, and by riding I don't mean commuting but touring, some daily and maybe longer journeys, something like 200-500km/day. At first thought about a BMW K75, but because of license restrictions I changed and began thinking about e Varadero 125... BUT lastly fate came to me in the shape of a Yamaha XS360, pretty much identical to the one in the below pic. I read a bit about it and the idea I got is that this is a pretty good bike, not like K75 and the Varadero,…

Hi - i'm after replacement front tyre on TDM850 labelled Pirelli Strada 110/80 ZRM18 (58w). I found similar on Oponeo.co.uk for £69 which seems pretty good. Only thing they quote R18 instead of ZRM18. According to thier site its a 'w' rated tyre which is good for 168mph so no worries there! Anyone know what the difference might be?? cheers!
