http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/22251 This is on another forum so I thought I'd put it here. Its the EU law against aftermarket parts for bikes, it doesnt end there though, there is a long list of stupid additions to the law. Some are truely ridiculous. Please sign, the government is full of bell-ends.

  3. So I was just given a 1981 xs850 Special that doesnt run and is in terrible condition. Ive really got nothing but time and would like to learn how to fix this bike. Ive started by stripping a bunch of aesthetic parts and am now in the middle of removing my carb to rebuild it. Does any one have any advice or know of any good links to help me on my journey? Thanks for any info!

Just put the engine in the Aprilia SR50 and the engines runs! that's a relief, not the same when it is someone else's motor. bought a cheap barrel and piston kit from Poland via eBay and had to modify/chamfer the ports a bit and got a spannie off gumtree for a 125 and got that to fit with a bit of welding. Carb spews out fuel on over flow, so need to check that and just need to dial in the jetting. hopefully the Mallossi variator mod will work as advertised! need to strip the front caliper and paint it and bleed brakes new fork oil etc and should be good to go!

  10. Hi, Does anybody know of a good place to get additional headlight(s) for my xj600s. The beam isn't great on dipped, so was thinking of maybe an additional light, perhaps just need an upgraded bulb. Just a quick look in Halfords for example and i find Ring do these for cars, but they tend to be called driving lights which am i wrong in thinking are main beam not dipped? Cheers

hello peeps When I bought my 89 DT 125r the guy said that they guy before him had swapped the engine for a 2002 engine. Im looking to do the top end on it but obviously the piston sizes differ from the original 89 engine and the newer ones. Is there an easy way to see if the engine is different to the original (with taking the head off and measuring the piston). I use this bike everyday as it is my only mode of transport so i need to keep the downtime to a minimum to enable me to get work etc. I would like to be able to order all the parts and do it all at once. Could i take the head off measure the piston and then put it back on with the original gaskets o…

The title says it all really, I'm thinking of bunging a performance air filter on my trusty steed, but wanted to know what experiences you guys and gals have had? Are they worth it on their own, or should they be part of a more expansive tuning operation? Cheers Si.

Hi guys Wonder if anyone could help me. I have an XV750 which was given to me by my father who has recently passed away. It was first registered in 93 on an X plate but I'm sure it was imported from the US. The speedo is redlined at 55mph. I need to sell it on as I need some space. Could any one give me an idea of how to go about finding a rough value for it? Thanks Mike

Hi, I've got a very weak spark that comes through the spark plug cable from the CDI but only occasionally it will come through the spark plug. Me and my dad can't figure out what it is, I thought it might be a bad earth? Compression is fine. Could it be a faulty CDI? Thanks, Ollie.
