  3. I had a bit of an incident riding to work this morning. Accelerating out of a roundabout on the Nottingham ring road, a pigeon decides they want to fly out of a tree from the grass central reservation. We end up coming together at about 40 MPH as I give it a full on Glasgow kiss (now I know how JFK felt). I carried on riding the few more miles to work without stopping. On parking up I discover my helmet is a bit messy, my visor is snapped in two and I have a stiff neck & dull headache. It leaves me with 2 questions; 1) Has anyone successfully won a "no win, no fee" claim against a dead pigeon? 2) Why are visors so bloody expensive?

Alas, the Jawa is no more... Loaded it into the back of my buddys A6 yesterday, so that it may begin a new life by being converted into a trailie type thing... still got £100 for it which is better than a kick in the teeth... now for my next project, hmmm... FJ1200?

Hey folks, Sorry if it's not the correct forum bit it is 'non' bike specific. I recently bought am XJ600n that's got a META M357T which is fully disconnected. The previous owner didn't even have the fob. Is it possible to refit the alarm by getting it reconnected and the fob replaced? The bike has also datatagged. Do I need to resubscribe? New to all the bike security so any input greatly appreciated. Cheers in adbance. C.

Hi all, My fabric trousers are about to fall apart. Not good for a pair that is less than a year old. But not to name the brand that has not survived the year (RST Rift - the seams have gone in several places - not recommended) I don't want leather but I do need a short leg so I have been looking at Weise Titans as I like the Weise quality of the stuff I have got. Before I buy a pair, are there any others with a short leg I could be looking? Alternatively, does anyone have any experience of Kevlar jeans? Ta

Evening all Am looking to help a buddy in Ireland(south) looking to get back on a bike after forty years without one! Restrictions include max power at 33 BHP and knackered knee and hip joints. The combination of these factores points solidly towards a cruiser style of bike I feel.I am told that even after passing their m/c test, you stay on L plates for two years with the BHP restriction as well. He needs a bike, two cylinders min, legaly restricted if required, that will keep his riding interest up even when more experienced, so a 20HP Suzy Maurader would probably not appeal. So learned friends, what make and model do you think I could suggest to him? From a price pe…

Hi, My daughter is moving (to Manchester) and wants me to transport her Virago. I have transported other bikes around locally using a "Monocle Lift", which holds the front wheel and allows the rear wheel to run on the road (similar to ), but I have not yet travelled this far or as fast as I will have to (130 miles at 60 MPH), so I am a bit concerned about overheating or otherwise damaging the gearbox by thrashing its guts around at high speed without the engine running. My question is: will the gearbox be lubricated sufficiently by being rotated by its output sprocket, or should I remove the chain so the gearbox does not rotate. Regards, Iain, in Rugby
