So I've finally got round to taking my test. I did a 3 day intensive course wed-friday. First day consisted of getting on this hunk of shit Kawasaki ER-6n, riding around a playground twice and then out on the road. Local riding first day, second day we went up to burgess hill and rode around the roads around the test centre, third day was the test. Was absolutely pooing my pants. Sailed through mod 1 without a minor. Picked up 3 minors on the road ride (mod 2). All three for being cautious. I stopped at two roundabouts that i didnt "need" to, and didnt go past a 4x4 that had stopped at lights straddling the two lanes. All things I would have not done if i were riding myse…

Passed my Module 1 test! It's not the greatest achievement in the world and I'm outdone by a guy who just posted that he just passed his whole test, but y'know! Still worth celebrating me thinks. So, huzzah! One step close to riding my XJ600.

Took my seat into Newton Abbot today, to get a quote for shaping and putting on a new seat cover, to an uphholstry chap I'd been reccomended by a mate of mine, not only does he refurbish 3 piece suites, but actually builds, ( also makes his own fibre glass bases, ideal cafe racers, bobbers, harleys etc)his own seats, and saw on his unit walls there was about 20 different types of seats he'd done himself, was very impressed, he's a biker himself with 30 years of building seats. He quoted me £15 for shaping and replacing a seat cover I supplied myself, and ready next day, a bargain I reckon. So I thought I'd share this with any members doing up their bike, or just having a …

  20. Hein Gericke have some deals on at the moment so if you need some stuff for the winter it may be worth a look. I popped into the Nottingham store earlier but most of the sale stuff had gone. There was a jacket in there I liked but it was not in the sale and was £399!! !! !! !! For that price I would expect them to throw in a bike . A lot of stuff is still available online. I have just ordered a Journey GORE-TEX jacket and trousers. Beware of the sales. They don't have the clothes even if you use the Hein Gericke website which show the clothes are in the sale.!
