Hi all, I've owned a 96 Thunderace which I really like but.....the clutch is really heavy. Anyone else have this issue or am I just a real whimp? I had an issue with not hitting neutral so replaced the clutch friction & steel plates, springs, seals at the business end of the push rod but although I can now hit neutral (most of the time) and despite all this, the clutch is as heavy as it ever was. I'm assuming early R1s would have a similar clutch setup and wondered if anyone else out there either is more manly than I or has a solution.....???

Hi folks, Just thought I'd take the time to wish you ALL a Merry Christmas and hope you all have a better 2022. The forum has got a lot quieter since I first joined ten years ago, nonetheless I still visit every few days to read whats going on with you all. I still enjoy the banter, even if the bikes don't do many miles at all these days. Have a great time and enjoy your family time. NE0. Apparently I've got a new film out!..... Might have to go and watch it over the holiday period.😎

I am going to look at a 2002 XVSA 1100 Dragstar. Can anyone tell me the difference between the XVS and the XVSA? Is one classic and one custom?

So... It's raining... I've got rain wear, but it would appear that there's pinhole leaks in the trousers (probably from putting them on and taking them off) around the crotch somewhere. I'm going to put this down as being one of the problems of rubberised clothing. So, the question is: Does anyone make non rubberised wet wear? Gortex or just simply better quality maybe?

Hoping someone else has had this problem??? 2000 XJ900S, turn the bike on and ignition lights etc all on. Hit the ignition and I hear 2 clicks and then everything goes dead. No lights/horn/etc. Turn it on and off and still nothing. Go back half an hour later, disconnect the battery and reconnect and everything lights up again, but hit ignition again and 2 clicks and dead again. Anyone got any ideas??? Thanks. Paul

Its been a few years since i rode my DT 175 1974, but now I can't wait again. But things have changed a bit i gather, that I don't need to tax it and MOT it, but will need to insure it. Do I have to register the bike with dvla as historic? Can I get very low cost historic insurance as probably only do 100ish miles a year?

PS. Just got a used Haynes manual off eBay ( what more does a guy need!🤣👍) Pictures are just to show the ‘challenge’ awaiting me this winter but don’t show all of the neglect and bodge ups done over the years. By the time I am finished I hope to have it looking ‘like new’ again 😀

First time I've had chance to get out on the bike this week, The sun was out the sky was blue, it was great to feel alive again for a couple of hours but boy was it cold, maybe I need to switch to my full faced helmet as my beard does'nt keep my ugly face to warm but it was my hands that got so painfully cold. Its no good its time to replace my favorite worn out gloves for something that actually keeps my hands warm. Time to buy myself an early christmas present.

Hi everyone, hoping you can help ID my DT100, I’m going to rebuild it. Serial number 23F-XXXXX (matching) suggests 1983 DT 100k on a couple websites, but all the pics and diagrams I can find for that version don’t seem to match what I’ve got. Sorry but couldn’t figure out how to post my own photos, is that possible? Mine looks like the model in this link, just much rustier. https://en.wheelsage.org/yamaha/dt/yamaha_dt100/pictures/hvj8jr appreciate any help pointing me to parts diagram and manuals etc and/or places that might have parts in stock (tank in particular, mine maybe rusted through). thanks!

Hi Guys, just joined after purchasing a XJ900f - 30+ years after buying my first one and touring Germany on it. Never touched that one. Just checked tyre pressures and oil level then rode it there and back and it never missed a beat. Got this one (in a very sad state) as a winter project for 21/22 and plan on doing all the work myself (with the help of YouTube😂) I can offer MIG welding if anyone needs it + I can spray paint in my workshop. The only help I can see I will need is a special socket(?) to undo the handlebars as none of my sockets will fit. Cheers and safe riding👍🤞
