  1. Started by slice,

Ok so LOOONG story short (I hope)I have had the FJR for over 5 years now and in all that time I have been lucky that nothing major has gone wrong BUT the other day I heard what sounded like a bag of spanners loose in the barrels! So youtube to the rescue and scanned the various FJR folks and their problems and lo and behold there was my noise, yep cam chain tensioner had let go, not a major job to change and in all the vids it looked easy and quick! I am on my 3rd day! First finding one was easy FJ owners club had one in stock and is only 20 miles down the road so no prob plus a couple of gaskets and the loss of £135 quid I'm ready to go. Took the cam chain cover off so I…

  2. Hi everyone. Hope this message find you well. I am a new member here and most likely will ask a lot of the questions that have already been asked. Pre apologies... I am shipping a 1979 DT 125 from NZ to UK as we are moving home to Scotland. The bike is matching frame and numbers here in NZ. Not road registered though. It is essentially a rolling frame that needs a full restoration, but the bones of it are healthy. I love DTs, had loads as a kid. I also will be sitting my bike license in the UK and will be restricted to a 125 for a while until I can apply for a full license. I cant think of a 125 id rather have. So, finally... My f…

Hi everyone! Finaly there is a 9 VIN decoder for all Yamaha 1960 to 2010! You can find it here: https://impreso.no/yamaha/9vin/ I made it when i searched for info on my own DT125MX. My Yamaha dealer said it was a 1978 model based on VIN, but it turned out it was a 1987! Hope you can get use of it!

Cleaning a motorcycle race suit is maintaining it. Cleaning your motorcycle race suit is as important as maintaining your motorcycle. A well-maintained bike gives you a smooth ride, and a leather suit provides you freshness, comfort, and protection.

Hi, I'm new to bikes so apologies if this seems like a stupid question. The Neutral light on my YBR doesn't come on even when neutral is engaged and it probably just needs replaced. The issue I'm having is, no matter how much I search, I can't find someone simply describing where the neutral switch is on the YBR and I don't really know what I'm looking for. Thought it would be very easy to figure out but it doesn't seem to be something anyone is pointing out with clarity. Cheers, Oran

How's it going every one? I've not ridden bar a couple of hire mopeds on holiday since I brought my tiger to squires and we went on ride out to Scarborough. That's got to be atleast 5 years. Sold on and left without a bike was a big difference in life cause I used to ride me, far and wide in all weather's and all hours. Met some great people attended some great days out. How I never got any points or anything I'll never know cause I rode that TDR singing all the way. It's still around. I kept it for a long time but unfortunately I couldn't keep it anymore and it's not with a lad I know in boxes. I've managed to track down my Tiger last month and delt fo…

  19. Hi all, I've owned a 96 Thunderace which I really like but.....the clutch is really heavy. Anyone else have this issue or am I just a real whimp? I had an issue with not hitting neutral so replaced the clutch friction & steel plates, springs, seals at the business end of the push rod but although I can now hit neutral (most of the time) and despite all this, the clutch is as heavy as it ever was. I'm assuming early R1s would have a similar clutch setup and wondered if anyone else out there either is more manly than I or has a solution.....???
