Honda XLV650 Transalp v Suzuki DL650 V-Strom v Yamaha XT660R As many of you know, within the last year I've owned each of these bikes...so here's an owner's perspective on how they compare! There's no performance figures like a mag would do...cos there's no point. None of them are designed as performance bikes, and the Strom is considerably quicker than the other two anyway. Firstly....the Transalp! As you all know, this is pretty much an 80's tech bike...with just a few enhancements over the years. In spite of being built in Spain, the build quality is still better than the other bikes. It has a solid feel to it and is reasonably comfortable an…

Two Irishmen walk into a pet shop in Dingle. They head to the bird section and Gerry says to Paddy, "Dat's dem." The owner comes over and asks if he can help them. "Yeah, we'll take four of dem dere little budgies in dat cage up dere," says Gerry. The owner puts the budgies in a paper bag. Paddy and Gerry pay for the birds, leave the shop and get into Gerry's truck to drive to the top of the Connor Pass. At the Connor Pass, Gerry looks down at the 1000' foot drop and says, "Dis looks like a grand place." He takes two birds out of the bag, puts them on his shoulders and jumps off the cliff. Paddy watches as Gerry falls all the way to the bottom, killing hi…

Hi, Apologies if some of you have already seen a post about this on the Fazer forum? Some friends of mine have built a site that allows people to enter and review their favourite biking roads in the UK and Europe and I am helping them try to make it a but known. It is a pretty cool site, it allows you to view and generate maps of routes as well as review existing routes. The idea is that it will become a knowledge base for Brit and European Bikers to use for ride outs and trips. The service is offered free and there is no catch, it is run by bike enthusiasts who are pretty well travelled and wanted to offer a useful service to others. Obviously the more …

A brunette, a redhead and a blonde escape a burning building by climbing to the roof. The firemen are on the street below, holding a blanket for them to jump into. The firemen yell to the brunette. ''Jump! Jump! It's your only chance to survive!'' The brunette jumps and the firemen yank the blanket away. The brunette slams into the pavement and splatters like a tomato. ''C'mon! Jump! You've gotta jump'' yell the firemen to the redhead. ''Oh no! You're going to pull the blanket away'' says the redhead. ''No it's brunettes we can't stand! We're OK with redheads.'' The redhead jumps. The firemen yank away the blanket and the redhead is flattened on the pavement l…

We'll i'm still saving for my first bike (I hate loans). My family absloutly does not want me to get one, i've even been banned from things as soon as i get one lol. Anyways, i did a bit of searhcing for a nice easily modifiable pic and got one. Then i took a picture from the same angle out side my house and merged the two (looks real) and sent it off via email to some and printed onto photopaper for others. Ah the mixed responces, people believed, some were iffy, other's though i borrowed a bike (mother in law was not happy). So i didn't have time for one of my ususal big ideas, but i did a small one that spread over a few people. Will be interesting @ christ…

i went along for the first time to the bmf. it was brilliant all the stalls and bikes to see. to sit on all the new bikes. great shops i bout quite a bit!! my best buy was a yamaha jacket for £60 quid in red white and silver to match my bike. i also got to meet charely boorman and got his autograph, it was cool to meet him and ask stupid qestions about his trip. he also had his battered up gs that he used. it was wrecked!!!! but still. also managed to get lots of brochures. after the bmf my dad is now deciding on a bike to replace his gay honda varadero 125 with either a bmw 650cs or a triumph bonneville (he has a restricted liscence to 33bhp). what do you rekon is a bet…

Well i've been geting closer to finding something to buy, 2nd hand old n small. and it looks like it might not be a yamaha. Yes i might cross over to the dark side. It looks like for small starters its between a kaw and a hon. The reason i came to this site is because i was dead set on getting a FZ6s (they rule!), but turns out it might be a bit to much as a first bike, so a non yamaha rider is better than a dead rider. So i might have to lay low for a while, then when i get that FZ, oh and i will, ....... I'll be back.

My mate said the best thing to do is to drain the oil and then fill it up with Gunk and let it stand overnight. Then flush it out with water in the morning. Is hot or cold water best?
