Hi there, can anyone out there help me please. I have a Yamaha SZR660, and I am looking to replace the forks from the original ones to a more updated pair, from any model of Yamaha say a FZR400rr or TZR250 V twin model. If you get a minute, please can anyone measure up any of their Yamaha models, and supply the dimensions of the forks, I am looking to replace the original ones that are 50mm at the top yoke and 53mm at the bottom yoke. Would much appreciate it if anyone out there nips into the garage with their vernier gauges and measure them please and let me know. On June 17th 2007 I will be taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Every year, thousands of people die prematurely from heart disease. It remains the UK's single biggest killer and for the increasing number that survive, life can be frightening and hard. The Bike Ride is 54 miles long and will take me from Clapham Common in London, to Brighton Sea Front. I have been doing alot of training after work to get myself ready for this and I will tell you now its not going to be easy. That part of it I can handle myself though. What I do need help with is raising sponsorship money! So if anyone could spare a…

First few pics are at the last stop on the way home. Just look at the size of the rear tyre on this thing A busa with lots of bling. More money than sense. Not to my taste but it caught the eye One pol…

I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer (OK in Texas) Sorry, Officer, I didn't realise my radar detector wasn't plugged in. Aren't you the guy from the village people? Hey, You must have been doing 125mph to keep up with me. Well done! I thought you had to be in relatively good shape to be a police officer? You're not gonna check the boot are you? Gee Officer! Thats terrific! The last officer only gave me a warning too! Do you know why you pulled me over? OK, just so one of us does! I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there are no other vehicles around...... That's how far ahead of me they are. When the officer says ''You…

LONDON (Reuters) - Powerful motorcycles could have their top speed capped to try to cut the number of riders killed in accidents, an influential group of MPs said on Thursday. Electronic speed limiters, already fitted on some scooters and high-performance bikes, could be required by law if the government adopts the committee's ideas. "Motorcycle accident rates (Advertisement) are far too high. They have been for 10 years," the House of Commons' Transport Committee said in a report. "It is time to consider radical action to tackle this problem." Many "superbikes" with large engines have devices that restrict top speeds to 186 mph (300 kph). The committee did no…

Hi everyone out there! I lived in the USA for a year, a while back and one of my friends sold me my first bike (the Hurricane) and sorted me with leathers and a helmet for the summer. His helmet had a polarized lense on the visor and I rode with it all summer there! It was fantastic at removing glare and reflections and it was so much better then stuffing sunglasses under my lid! I was so impressed with the lense that, when I came back to the UK and started biking again I contacted him and told him I'd like to bring the lenses to riders in the UK. This isn't a sales pitch to get you to buy the lenses (although orders are gratefully received!!), but if anyone has used…

OK, here are some simple thoeretical physics lessons that may help out the next officer fo the law that pulls you over; Lesson 1: If I am ridding a bike that accelerates more quickly than the average police car, I will move away from a stop quicker than the car. With this in mind if you want to catch up to me, you will have to move quicker to do that. If I (being law abiding and all that) were to accelerate up to 30mph in say 2 seconds and it take you 8 seconds to get there, I will be travelling at 30mph for 6 seconds more than you (are we all ok at this point?) To catch up to me you need to do more than 30mph to close the 6 second gap between us. This does not m…
