hi there all. im looking to build a simple 6VDC to 12VDC step-up transformer for using things like phone chargers and camera chargers from the 6v supply on my bike. i know i wont get high outputs but i am looking to get something like 400mah out of it. i have basic knowledge in electrical engineering but i need a bit of help drawing up a schematic diagram. anyone have any ideas? regards Steve

Hi ya`all, Been out for first ride this morning, I KNOW I`M A STUPED OLD FOOL, With no front brake, BUT i just had to know if the clutch/gearbox were ok, because it`s going to be a long hard save before i can afford a brake, ( Did i mention the gaggle of offspring, Christmas, And all that), Now i can get on with other things, Lots to do yet, So don`t go away, Stay tuned, ILL BE BACK, So thank you all, Mark. Last night (Monday 17th November 2008) the BBC Watchdog program run a report on Direct Bikes, and the scooters they sell, you can read about it here : One part of the report mentions speedo's and one guy had been told by Mr plod that speedos showing only km/h is illegal. Has anyone any knowledge about this, is it true? What about bikers from the continent coming into this country, how will it effect them ? I'm a little curious, as my TTR has km/h and no mph - but I didn't think it was actually a requirement to have a speedo (abide by the speed limits yes), and when I've comapired every speedo I've had with either GPS or RoadBook the speedo's are between 7 and 10…

hi everyone, took my CBT today. started off with the basics, parcticing in a car park e.t.c and after a couple of hours i got out on the road with th einstructor, after a couple of hours we stopped for a burger king (as you do...) before continuing the test for another hour or so and ending up back at the Railway station where we had started. since then i've not been off my DT, first thing i did when i got home was get my insurance sorted (£225 Third party F&T with Swinton) and i am really enjoying this little bike... keep asking my dad to let me play with his CBR900 Urban Tiger but he is somewhat reluctant

I jsut got a call from teh motorcycle garage about ym bike (the chain came off the other day and i took it in for a service) It's gonna take 3 weeks to get a new chain set for it from italy

Hi everyone! I'm Ed. I'm only 16 so try to go easy on me when i ask stupid questions about motorbikes I'm presently riding on an italian import Aprilia Classic 50cc (geared 5-speed) And I turn 17 in jan '09 and have every hope of getting a Yamaha Dragstar 650 limited so I can play with the big boys (and girls!!) I also enjoy skiing, but i didn't notice that category in the sections One thing I really want to do is to drive a bike to switzerland, ski for a weekend and then drive back!! Hi All As some of you are aware from my posts i'm currently rebuilding an FZR600 which is coming on rather nicely. Currently awaiting the frame back from Powder Coating. How ever I would like to put a nice new shiney set of Gauges on to it maybe have some funky stuff too. I have been told you can get speedos that the needle changes colour as you acclerate etc. Just wondering if anyone knew were to get them from. The major thing was I wanted to add a Fuel Gauge. The other bit is I'm considering Tyres as the Wheels should be back from powder coating in a week and I wanted peoples opnions on them I don't mind cost I just want quality and good traction with little…
