hey everyone, is it actually worth running an in-line filter between the petcock and carb seeing as most petcocks have filters on them anyway?

hi everyone. just shopping around for some Jawa tyres, i think im after a 90/90-18 for the rear and a 100/90-18 for the front. whats the best place to get cheap tyres?, the front is okay but its been stood in a shed for 7 years so i would rather replace it, the rear deffo needs replacing. cheapest rear tyre i found is a Cougar 126 from busters - £26 http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/produ...p;kw=90%2f90+18 cheapest fornt is a Michelin pilot sporty - £38 http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/produ...;kw=100%2f90+18. the jawa restoration is coming along slightly but due to being out of a job i am focusing more on the mechanical side of the pro…

dunno if it interests any of you, yesterday i got an oxford boss alarm from george white's in swindon for £29.99. Shop soiled box, but other than that half of the normal price even on ebay. Nice 14mm shackle and a decent alarm, which isnt going to flatten my bike battery. looks nice and beefy used with my kryptonite chain.

Ok I decided that now I'm on a 4 day week and since the weather is good to dig my bike out from all the stuff thats been thrown over it and my beloved DT. The ride was canal towpath from Dukinfield to Marple Bridge, Marple roman lakes, Brookbottom and onwards and upwards over Lantern Pike and home towards Glossop. I love it this time of year with all the stuff burstin with life after winter, this was the firs time I've ridden my bike for around a year and a half now so with some big big hills it was tough going, took some pics for you along the way too. This is my bike, its a Mongoose Teocali super for those of you who care And heres a shot on the towpath from m…

Okay so this weekend I decided I've had enough of my L plates so booked my theory test for next Weds and will then see what the situation is with the practical test. Gonna do the A2 test on my SR to save a bit of cash. It will work out the best for me as I'm planning on going travelling at the end of the year so don't have spare cash to do Direct Access (or buy a bigger bike for that matter) and the way I see it if 3/4 months of my 2 year restricted period will be used up when I'm travelling outside the UK then that's perfect, and I'll have something more practical than a CBT when I get back. So, firstly, does anyone have any tips for the theory and hazard perception t…

Just been and picked up my new bike - fuck me it was freezing! Thed ealer is around 30 miles from me so had to ride Elvira there and my new one back lol. The bike is gorgeous! Its light, responsive and more comfortable than anything i've ever ridden before. The seat felt quite hard on the ass when i first got on it, but after a mile or so it was REALLY comfy. I cant get over just how light the front end feels - the 650 felt like a ton weight at times, but i feel like i have so much more control over this one. Looks wise - well IMO its a thing of beauty - Yamaha have completely revamped it, and it males the other bikes in the Star range look dated. The arse end is much…

Hi everyone. ive noticed that when passing other bikers they will nod or tilt their head to the side, kind of like the frenchies' "waving of the leg" greeting. just a casual observation... thought i would point it out, is this a nationally recognised greeting or just unique to a select few bikers?

Hi Guys ( sorry an' Dolls ) Been riding my 125 Dragstar for a while now, we've all discussed ways of beefing her up a little and I've come to the conclusion that because I'm 18 stone and as wide as a barn door we are only going to get a top cruising speed of around 60 out of her ( don't want to hurt her by wraggin' her engine so it's time to look for something a bit bigger). I can't afford to take my test at the momment and to replace the current bike I would have to use the cash from her sale to pay for the next one. So after talking to my friends we can't get a firm answer to one particulare question. If a motorcycle is less than 33bhp can it be ridden on a learne…

Hi, I am trying to find a company called bike paint. I have found Bike-Paint.co.uk but after a quick phone call it would appear these aren't the droids i am looking for. Story is i have just got hold of a single seat cover but it is the wrong colour. My bike has a custom paint job Cadbury boost colours done by the previous owner. One of the Stickers on the bike says Bike paint and i assume these are the guys who did the paint job i want to get hold of them so i can match the colour for my seat cover. Any help email or phone numbers would be greatfully recieved as it would be a shame to fook it up by getting the wrong one. Cheers

Hi everyone im looking for a new helmet as my current one is a bit primative, large and heavy (its a plastic Wulfsport helmet) anyway, ive been looking at some nice MX style helmets (carbon fiber one for £100 in george whites) but none of these seem to have visors, and for me that is a nescessity (sp?). so does anyone know where to find a good, lightweight MX helmet with a visor? (preferably a fibreglass or carbon fiber one)

In response to the interesting article at "Nodding Bikers", i thought it would be good to initiate a kind of user guide to 'nodding ettiquette'. I was familiar with the nod and actively promote it; however i was unaware of the open/close hand gesture alerting me to Police! So, if you know of any agreed gestures - let's have them detailed here?
