  1. Happy days albeit by a ladygarden whisker. The gent was of the the opinion that the lead of my heated grip on the throttle was interfering on full right lock and hence could not issue the ticket because that was dangerous. After explaining that there is enough length on that lead under the tank or short of that taking the tank off and unplugging the damn thing and lead it somewhere else, looking at the clock at 16:55 that was not an option. Ticket isssued Driving home in the dark + driving rain and wind, not seeing a thing thru my screen was far from enjoyable.
  2. Standing by for the dreaded phone call then :-)
  3. The mot/bike shop put a new set on 2 months ago so all good + all split pins accounted for. The only unknown is the condition of rear swing arm bushings.
  4. Never hurts to give it a generous treatment with Muckoff and a soapy wash so she's looking the dogs dangelies. Should be all good .... famous last words.
  5. I can't find the yellow fecker anymore. Here's a blue one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTOR-BIKE-750cc-YAMAHA-FZX-/151457070205?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item23438b7c7d
  6. I guess it will always be a matter of taste but I really like the look of this.
  7. Yup had a look at this Cloggie breakers website : 19Eur + 12.50Eur shipping...... robbing barstuards. Still only 25 quid or thereabouts posted. If your not getting anywhere let me know and I can sort thru my cloggie bank account and we'll sort something out.
  8. My pleasure and part of the service. Yes the FJ is a pretty heavy lump. Actually have it exactly a year to the day now and starting to 'throw' it around a bit, good fun.
  9. So...... then what happened? Got the feeling I'm missing half the story here
  10. Glad to hear she's ok and hope her 'damage' is not permanent. Agree with the above sentiments 'I was in the right' just doesn't cut it on your grave stone. Dangerous time out there this time of year boys & gals.
  11. Correct. Am with bikesure through the club here and got a good deal last year. On renewal this was hoiked up by 50 quid. Quickly checked with Bennets that were cheaper than last years insurance. Quick call to Bikesure to ask them wtf they were thinking. Now cheaper than last years insurance. Happy days. (shop around and play them against each other - you can get a good deal)
  12. Hi Harry, That RD350LC is a beaut !! You must have itchy balls as well looking at that 750 seating arrangement :-) Welcome.

  14. Like following your project Unk. Keep the updates coming.
  15. If only there was an up.yours disable button
  16. Go go go Tasky Anybody calling a FJ1200 an out dated slow dinosaur needs to be hung, drawn & quartered ..... then burned.....the ashes ground to a pulp .... then shot into outer space. Nuff said !!!
  17. Hmmmm there's something to be said for flat cloggie land ..... if you park yer bike it stays where it is. Not so in Cornwall Then again if you don't deploy the side stand fully
  18. Turned 16 in Cloggieland, aquire FS1 to go to school - rest is history - Yammy's all the way, not a life choice, it just happened
  19. Couldn't agree more and I always go sort of middle of the road for all parts i.e. cheap is nasty vs. clad in gold leaf. Stripped the whole lot and there are rough patches on the pads rather than a smooth surface all over - and they have the slot in the middle. It looks like the dics were going against the grain of the pad.....odd. Changed left to right and back to front and it feels a lot better already. New scintered pads will go in this evening anyway.
  20. Not a day goes by that dipsh*ts in euroboxes don't have a go at terminating my existance. Either on roundabouts, turn offs or merging. And this at speeds of half or less than this poor dude is doing. There are these douchebags in their tin boxes that think they can out drag, out run & cut off an FJ 1200 when I'm literally bimbeling to work every morning at under the legal limit, just minding my own business and enjoying the ride. I'm on time so no rush. Bloody provocating d*ckheads. Last week I was "" this close to calling the cops to report one of these idiots that sat 2 ft. behind my licence plate @80 on a dual stretch, overtaking traffic, and when I'm just about to merge onto the single bit this twat undertakes me!!!!!! Sorry guys, driving standards over here are waaaay below par.
  21. Yup, ride with all your senses switched on. Especially when the local bus has left a trail of diesel around the corner. You can smell the stuff and the moment you do reduce speed and lay off the brakes.
  22. Gents, If i didn't know any better I'd thought my dics are severely warped but they weren't before I changed pads. Juddering and just plain bad and worse at low speeds. My money is on poor quality pads from Wemoto Thoughts ? Thanks.
  23. Nice one Foamy. Good lookin bike.
  24. Oh Really !!!! Well it aint ....... but GFY al the same.
