    Then and Now

Mostly because it was all I could afford at the time (second hand at £300 - had interview with the bank manager for the loan!!). I had just started work from leaving school. Passed my test on it (twice round the block and emergency stop............) then the 125 law came in, so managed to buy the Superdream cheap (£795 new) as the dealer had a stash he couldnt shift! Happy days!!!

    Then and Now

Go on then - it would be rude not to frighten you all................. Me - 1980- my first bike CB100N - I was 17: Dad had the XS400 at the time........... Then 1982, with the French girl who is now my wife, in Salzburg, Austria - CB250NB - we married there exactly 30 years later: That's it - horror show over..................
  3. I have done it a few times over the past couple of years - but always on a Pan European!!!!! Trust me - there is bugger all of interest along the route!!!!!!!!!! It has to be one of the most boring journeys in GB............ Full respect to you guys contemplating doing it on sub 400cc bikes................
  4. Been in the diary a while - I'll be there on the XS.........even with a leaky fork seal.... oh well.... Hi Drewps - sorry not been about much. So much work on - but have been having a blast on the XS on these balmy evenings!!!! Still going strong, but I really must sort out the leaky fork seal.... BTW = do you still have the rack you once had fitted to it? If so and you could bear to part with it.......how much??? See you on the Friday folks.........but not really looking forward to all the motorway miles from Gloucester!!!! CT
  5. Hi all, WELL - what a weekend...........hottest few days of the year so far, and only one breakdown of note (holed piston on a fizzie). Met up with some absolutely CRACKING lads (John - Blackhat, Patrick - 2 Wheels & Paul -Airhead) along with a whole host of buddies I had known a while.............oh and of course the mad mob on the fizzies!!!!! Had a few difficulties myself with the Pan on the Fizzie run.............it really doesn't like travelling 60 miles at 35 average in 26 degree temps!!!! It even pee'd itself in the centre of Pocklington...............oh, the embarrassment!!!!!! Much ale was drunk............much nattering took place..............way too much food was eaten!!! Real shame we missed you Tommy - Can only have been by half an hour or so as I got back to Squires about 4.30pm. The rest of them rocked up about an hour later than that - I left them in Bridlington as I wanted a 'play' on the way back . Really hope to catch up with you guys again soon............and John : next time I am heading up to Bonnie Scottie, I will tip you the wink. A few of us like to play in the highlands.......would be good for you to join us!!!! All the best, CT PS - Hope you got back OK Patrick - now THAT is what I call COMMITMENT!!!!!!!

  8. Not been about for a while, sorry folks - work has got in the way............ Will be heading up for Squires for the Fizzie Meet - arriving on the Friday evening. Taking the Pan as the XS is currently tucked up and it would be criminal to load her up with camping gear (no rack!!!). Camping with the Superdream mob - looking forward to meeting you all!!!!! .........and Blackhat - see if you cant squeeze Scott's SD into the van whilst you're at it!!!! Cheers CT
  9. Great to see such an active and positive involvement here from 'The Industry'. Should be applauded..... I note you offer Modern, Modern Classic and Classic Classic policies............would you consider a policy for one modern bike and two or three classic bikes as a multi-bike option? The modern bike isnt that modern though......1998 ST1100 Pan Euro........... I am currently with CN until mid August and have just had a devils own job adding the XS400 to my Pan policy - the underwriters were going to reject it!!!!!! Look forward to hearing from you when convenient. Cheers CT

    Sex sells!!!!!

I was told there was a decent bike for sale in this ad........but I was buggered if I could see it!!!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161023657323?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_4323wt_1156 CT
  16. Foamy's SR is probably a damned sight better built and more reliable than your current nail. My preference would be to trouser the SR and part out the XT. That way you still have transport, and the XT will cover the cost of the SR. And I doubt you will have any trouble with the SR.... CT
  17. They are breeding!!!!! Look very fine do them Tommy - very fine!!!! CT
  18. Here is a 'HOW TO' that I did for another forum............. Here you will find a step by step guide to uploading your pictures, photographs, scans and other files to your Forum posts. The best way of doing this is via a hosting site - in this case we are talking about Photobucket (but there are others) and this guide refers only to that site. 1. Set yourself up with a Photobucket account (it is free) and log yourself into it: 2. Once you are in to your account, on the top menu bar you will see the word 'upload'. Click once on this word: 3. This will take you to the next screen where you will see a button in the middle 'Browse Files' Click on this button: 4. A sub-window showing the directories and files on your computer will appear. Search through your computer via this window until you have found the image you want to upload and click on it. You can select multiple images by holding down the 'ctrl' key and clicking on each file in turn should you wish. Here we have selected only one: 5. Once you have selected your file(s), they will upload to Photobucket and when ready they will display in the Library. At this point, add a name in the box below the image that you will recognise: Once this is done, click on the 'View Library' button to see the uploaded images. 6. Here you can now see the uploaded image in the 'Library', alongside earlier uploaded images. You can set preferences as to the order in which the images are displayed - my preference is for 'Newest First': 7. To then be able to post your image onto your Forum message, hover your pointer arrow (mouse etc.) over the cog-wheel symbol in the top right hand corner of the image. This will then open a 'drop-down menu' where you will see the words 'Get Links'. Click on these words: 8. By doing this, a further menu is displayed showing a list of available link code for you to choose from, to enable you to post your image to the Forum. The one to select is right at the bottom labled 'IMG codes': Click ONCE on the line of code below the heading 'IMG codes'. You will see the box containing the code flash once or twice. This shows that the code has been copied to your computer's memory. 9. Now revert back to the Forum topic you were originally intending to add a photo to. As the Image Code is currently stored in your computer's memory, all you have to do to retrieve the photo is click once in the space where you are to write on the Forum topic, then 'Right Click' on your mouse - this will then bring up the standard windows menu where you will see the word 'Paste'. Click on 'Paste' and you will then see your photo's code appear: 10. Finally, carry on and finish whatever it was you wanted to say on the topic. Once you have finished, click on the 'Create Post' button as usual and then voila!!! Your image will be posted for all to enjoy.
  19. Made him an offer - just waiting to hear back now..............waiting...........................................waiting.................................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  21. Yep - Photobucket is your friend here........ Notice you have a smart 400N tucked away in one of the pics - recommend you pay this site a visit to help you with this one.... http://honda-superdream.proboards.com/ Just say CT sent you..........I am a mod over there........they dont bite! CT
  22. Lucky beggar!!!! Enjoy yerself..........and ride safe!
  23. Anyone mind if I tag along for this? Should have a suitable bike by then, even if it is a 4 banger!!!! CT
  24. Ah yes - I have read this.... Mostly, what the 'authorities' are clamping down on are vehicles without tax and insurance and being driven 'off piste'. When they say in the article 'off road' they mean directly across the fields. The military area of Salisbury Plain has hundreds, if not thousands, of tracks which are the byways that can be used by the 'law abiding' public. They are very obvious. Sometimes, the military close off some of the tracks for operational reasons - again, it is very obvious which have been. So long as the rider is licenced, the bike is legal and the insurance is in place.....then you will be good to go!!! Done it myself many a time on both bikes and with Landies.....last time was late last year.
