  3. Hi Guys As Vez suggested it maybe a good idea to post this in the events postings I know alot of you guys have 2 strokes after looking at the posts on the YOC and attending the 2 stroke meeting at squires last year, and they are not all Yamaha, me being one of them. but if you cant wait till sept for the Squires meeting there is a triples meeting on the 6th 7th 8th may 2011, here's a link to the bash http://kawasakikhregister.myfastforum.org/ftopic2438-0.php Don't forget...... You do not need a Triple to attend You do not need a bike to attend You do not need to be a Triples Club member to attend Any 2 strokes can attend camping 2 rideouts Trophies for all classes including Non Kawasaki All day bar All day food 70's disco 70's band WAGS go free All this on the Lancashire Riviera What more do you want ? It would be great to see loads of 70s 2strokes on blackpool sea front , you can even buy the other half a stick of rock, and you could pick up a trophy for best non Kawasaki so just to repeat you dont need a triple to attend you dont need a bike to attend you dont need to be a triples member to attend Any 2 strokes can attend cheers al
  4. yep done that before and it works , it might be a tiny little speck of dirt that lodged in the bowl
  5. could be your needle in you float valve sticking , or the float is goosed , pull the carb off and take out the float stick it in a bowl of water and see that it definatley floats if it sinks its goosed ( make sure you dry off before putting back on ) if you have not touched the carb and it was ok before i think it will be the float valve sticking ,take it out and spray with wd40 and work it in and out check the point end too there should be no grooves, ruff bits on , for what its worth just order a new float valve if i were you

nice find i have just ordered a set so we will see what happens cheers al
  8. have got to agree with Mervin , but i work for the uk arm of an american company and we have tons of stuff made in china , the issue is spec and QC (quality control), we have to have all our products screened and QCd before it hits the containers but the chinese are sometimes sneaky they will lower the original specs of the product been made, its the oldest trick in the book if you are a novice they give you a sample of high spec good quality merchandise you sign on the dotted line and pay for the stock up front ,you go home and think im going to make a killing in europe only to find when you pick up your container that the high spec is now low spec cheap and shitty we have to have american personel working in china making sure that the specs are adhered to and we check all container before leaving china
  9. go on you know you want to have a look on the FZR online forum , dont think there are any issues if done properly, but you can always convert it back cheers Al
  10. Drewps , seen it before but it still sounds fantastic, there nothing better than hearing a 2 stroke on song a bit like blackhat on his H2 with them spannies on at squires brill! turn your volume up and listen to this one though H2 750 with denco's its pretty tame at first but when he gives it licks and it clears its throat up the road WOW My link
  11. Thats tough news Tony you maybe lucky,it maybe some little scroats who have taken it and will dump it when they get board of it . keep an eye on evil bay and any local papers if they are trying to make a quick buck, might be worth sticking a photo up here if its not bog standard then people will not what they are looking out for good luck in finding and getting your bike back
  12. happy birthday from me too :birthday:
  13. Its not worth it , even if you think you managed to do it . can you imagine put it all back together and then it goes bang i would go to an engineering company and get it done properly but thats just me , you might get away with it ?? cheers Al
  14. Hi BigJim, have you put a multi meter and checked the readings , good battery, power to coil , coil to plug , does any off the elecrics work at all , could be just a bad earth ,check the loom for breakages and fusty connectors if you have rebuilt it and had the frame powder coated you will need to re tap the thread for it to earth out we could do with a bit more info cheers al
  15. there's one here but its for the 91-93, Im sure it fits but not 100% give them a ring to double check My link
  16. go to agree £2,000 does seem on the high side unless it truly is a minter, apart from the ex up value as mentioned , check it does not jump out of second gear as they tend to have been hammered in second , other than that regulator (VR) tend to be weak , make sure you check the battery with a volt meter when its running with the lights on, A safe charging rate @ 3000 RPMs is 13.7 to 14.9 volts anything above this your VR is goosed , It might have had a upgrade , but you can still buy them of ebay for £40.00 great bike though have a look here on the FZR forum My link

  19. I will go with gas up as well, it's probally got some rain water in the switch and its sticking ,pull the rubber back on the switch(that supposed to keep the water out) get your girlfreinds or your mums hair dryer on it , then give a squirt of WD40 and work it up and down, dont get the hairdryer too close to the plastics though cheers aL

    The Bastard

I only call mine Bastard when it doesnt start
  21. one of my bike was the same , totally flat if you snapped back on the throttle ,then picked up if you let the throttle off turned out it was a bend needle and the emulsion tubes were blocked in the carbs , does it rev cleanly from tickover or slightly faulter? im 99% sure it will be the carbs cheers Al
  22. Looking good, I thought the pic was a brochure photo, £1,450 is the max i would pay if its as good has it looks
