  1. Hi guys. New on the forum. I am currently restoring an old LS2, and most of the parts I have managet to get via Youtube and other places. However, the exhaust pipes with mufflers are hard to come by. Please give me a tip if you come across a pair. They do not have to be perfect in the chrome, but they must be without dents and scratches into the metal.

  3. Hello ! I'm about to take ownership of my first Yamaha for 20 years - since passing my test on a 1988 TZR 125 (in Camel F1 colours for those of you that can remember that far back !)...in 1995. The 'new' Yamaha is a 2012 X Max 250. Bought for my 50 mile round trip commute to work. I've got an old VFR800 at the moment - but it has too much power, not enough storage and a heavy clutch for the filtering I need to do every day. I've had a Burgman 400 in the past which was a bit cumbersome and heavy - so I'm hoping the X Max should be a bit of a revelation ! Keep safe if you're riding at this time of year - I wimped out on the bike this morning - bike + slush does not work for me ! All the best. Tim

  4. Hey @Cynic thanks Yes I've got an updated service book with everything in it No other signs to be honest, I am not a mechanic of course (i am a mechanic's son though) but the bike not running odd or cutting off. Just when I would turn it off and try to get it on again (e.g in a gas station) the starter would just 'click' and the motor indication would light up. But after few minutes it would start again. So an electrical problem would make sense to me, but apparently not to the mechanic... @blackhat250 When I went there to check for myself, and after telling him the few things I know and learned from others, (basically telling him that if the camchain was the problem, I should be listening a loud noise from the engine) he said that he would not charge me if he is wrong... so no labour whatsoever. Of course, he changed the spark plugs and he wants me to pay for these, even though someone could argue, that since this was not the problem, he shouldn't do it or he should put the old spark plugs back and not charge me... Anyway, all what I want now is to give my bike a second chance, with someone that could hopefully do a better job

  5. You have resisted plugs (that's what the 'r' means) if you use them with resisted caps your bike will run badly if at all. Resisted caps run 4Kohm resistance, so with the caps your lumping 8Kohms of resistance into your system. The ideal is unresisted caps and unresisted plugs for a really bright spark, its only to supress radio interference. One other other is fine but you don't want both.
