Not sure exactly how this all works, but just saying Hello as I'm new here. I'm new-ISH to riding, having "mucked around a bit" on friend's bikes when I was young and come back to do it properly later. I did my learning on a 1998 SR125, and having passed my full UK license a few years back, I got a bigger bike but still keep my beloved SR125 for local round town. She's old and a bit battered.. but then, so am I! LOL

I have the above 51 year old bike which has been in store for 15 years or more. It is in fair condition and the engine turns over the brakes operate. I am wondering whether to sell it on as is or do a full job on it to bring it right up to standard. I know very little about the model and if I can get any necessary parts or a workshop manual? How many of this model were made and what it’s value might be. Any info gratefully received, Ian.

Hello, my name is Baz and thanks for letting me join. A bit of background, I have been riding since I was 7 and have been hooked ever since. My first real bike on the road was an early 80's XT250 red tank gold rims. I have had various bikes over the years and I still have a few bikes now and one of the pride n joy's is my 1995 XT600E. It has been a journey as I bought it cheap with work to do and have enjoyed every step, some details: originally put new airbox and brakes, work on original carby(s)to get going on the road, After a while reco speedo and taco as well as new stainless spokes and alloy rims. Currently undergoing motor overhaul with big bore 660 kit, rebuilt cr…

Good morning all. I'm new to this site but I've had loads of yamaha motorcycles. Whether it be on road, dt or yz. I'm currently building a dt175mx. I think it's a 1978. I have no papers or registration documents but it has matching engine and frame numbers starting with 2A7. It'll be great if I can get it registered with a logbook.

hi all, new to the group and have just acquired a 1998 yzf750 thats been sat for 4 years, pure nostalgia trip. going to get her back road ready for next spring, lots to do but starting at the front end. brake master and calipers cleaned and rebuilt with new seals and onto the front forks requiring a rebuild. so my first question ~ what weight fork oil to use, haynes manual says to use yamaha fork oil '01' which i've checked out to be 5w. this seems very light to me, what should i use 5w, 7.5w or 10w any help much appreciated. thanks mark.

Just a "hello"! My name is Tony (as if you couldn't have guessed!) I'm up near Carnforth - top left hand corner of Lancashire. I picked up my Tracer 700 (2020 model, 21 plate) last weekend - and (eventually) found this group. I'm hoping to find lots of useful info here, hopefully relevant to the UK. I've been riding for years - lots of different bikes. The Tracer might be the nearest I've found to suit what I do - fine weather rides around the Lakes and Dales. I'm looking forward to it - when the rain stops! That'll do for now - don't want to bore you all too much!

Just one week to go, then I collect my first ever Yamaha. Been riding since 1979, mostly Honda and Triumph, but have been seduced by a BT1100. Currently riding a Triumph Tiger 995i, so just a little bit different. Never having owned a Yamaha, there may well be some questions, not too many I hope. I do all my own maintenance and servicing, so looking forward to the mix of new, and old tech. Here's to the future, and further biking adventures Cheers Stu

  17. Good afternoon ladies and gents, My name is Charlie, I was researching some information for a build I'm hoping to get started in the next couples of weeks and figured I would join up as a full member so I don't have limited access to threads and can engage properly with the Yammie community. I'm going to be picking up my mates old 2007 DT125RE in pieces this week and start putting it back together accompanied by a full engine rebuild. This is how she'll be run until the winter when I have time to deconstruct it again and do a full restomod jobbie on it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet some of you and have a natter about this and that. All the b…

Hi Everyone, I am in my sixties and have three bikes: RT1200 (2010) - Honda VFR F 750 (1996) and.. a Yamaha YBR125 ED (2007). I have joined because that last one, the Yam, is causing me all the grief at the moment. After a prolonged period of being stored in a cold lock up, I pulled it out and started to get it started. I am still at it a week later. Here is what I have done: 1 Ignition barrel contacts dodgy. Pulled it apart, cleaned the contacts and all good. 2.Fuel was v bad. Drained tank and cleaned it. Fuel pump u/s. New aftermarket one fitted (£21) to the existing sender unit assembly. Tank cleaned and resealed. 3. After this it. ran so I …
