    Hi everyone. As per most people, I only seem to stumble upon these forums when things go wrong. But I know you get some great brains helping out on forums such as this. My sons bike has just conked out and our local mechanic is scratching his head. Hence my search for good advice. I will post the problem in the relevant section rather than starting it here. But as the main person that deals with all this stuff, I need some help\advice. By the way his bike is a Yamaha TW125

    I wanted to say hi as a new member and share my story. This bike is the bike my father gave me in 1980, the year before he passed. It was originally a stock GTMX80...yellow in color and took a beating from me. 30 years later, I've been able to restore the bike and give it to my 11 year old son. I know it's not original and restored to stock, but all the parts are stock and the same that I rode on when I was 10, excluding the piston and rings. I'll show before and after pics if the site allows. And BTW, these are the colors and all my son wanted. Hope you enjoy. Thanks, Workman

Hi everyone my re-chosen name describes me well.I am on other forums but choose to read more than talk.I have been riding bikes since 1969 with various breaks due to family,money,jobs,the usual stuff. I have come back this time because I broke my back in 04. I needed something to do so I chose to rebuild a bike my mz et125 (it was given to me). The I got the chance of my xj 550. I rode for a bit but it was not yet my bike somehow.So the strip down started. I have even striped the old paint off. It is almost finished just deciding what exhaust to use (I'v got two types)one standard and the other chrome and loud. And of course tune four carbs. I've made the blancking tool.…

    just picked up a sweet 82 maxim 650, runs like a wet dream! only one issue, after she warms up(after 10 miles or so) when stopped it will idle high, between 2500 and 3000 rpms. the rubber between my carbs and my block are dry rotted and cracking. im figureing this to be my problem. they want $200+ for the new rubber, which i dont get i paid less for the rubber on the tires. but is there an easy cheap fix for this? or does anyone know any cheap parts shop? and finally what is the name of that piece of rubber?

    Hi all, Just bought a Thundercat as my first big bike! I am four months from the end of my 33bhp restriction and need some help finding the kit! I realise I can chance it and ride without but I came from a Suzuki Intruder 125 cruiser so I'd like the beast tame for at least a little while!! If anybody has some cheap restrictor washers please let me know! £200 is a rip for a few months use and I am struggling to find any second hand!! Also if anybody with a set of washers would be kind enough to measure them I am able to make a set for myself. Cheers

    Hi,All So judging buy the reply i got back i think we got off on the wrong foot so let me break the ice i have been riding for the past 15years not long but still a while iv had a 1984 RM 80 wicked little bike first bike i had then it was a DT 175 after a little problem oil pump stop working had to get it bored out, removed pump and added oil straght to the fuel problem free bike a really fun on sand next was a XL500 rebuilt from ground then it was a 1990 GSXR1100 followed buy a 1994 VFR750 sweet note i understand you could get pissed off that you get people asking you question all the time but thats why we are here isnt it? to talk and ask people for infomat…

    Hey I've bought a FZ6-N. The owner I bought it from only had one key, a blake one. When I went to my yamaha dealer they said that you had to have the masterkey to registrate new keys, they also said that they couldn't reprograme the ECU and make me a new one. Instead they said if u want more keys u have to replace the hole locking system, and it will cost about 17k+ SEK aproximately 2K €. So now i wonder is there any cheaper easier way to get any more keys as reservs? Please help me if u know anything

    Hi just got myself a 1991 DT 50 LC with the bike came a 70cc piston and ring kit + gaskets and barrel. Can some one out where tell me what size jett's I need to re-jet the carb? Plus Need to know what reeds I will need. Please can you share your knowledge? Thank you.

    I bought a '00 DT230 just the other day. Found this site has a bit of info about them so here i am. The DT is my first Yamaha. Seems like a pretty solid piece of kit. Had a lot of fun on it already! It's good to get off the tarmac for a change. I have a few other bikes. A couple of V-twins, another single and a big old 70's Three pot smoker. I've been restoring and servicing my own machines and other friends bikes for many yrs now, so i may even be able to contribute from time to time. Im here mainly though to find out more about the DT230 for when it comes time for parts/maintenance etc.
