Hi! A 35 year old woman who got a job just far enough away from home - to justify to my better half that this.. this is the time to buy the motorcycle I've always dreamed of. After wanting to get a bike for 12 years - my dream bike, after checking my bank account, was any bike that I could get for practically nothing. Not quite enough googeling, and one enthusiastic brother-in-law later... I now ride around on a Yamaha XJ Diversion 600N - borrowed from a co-worker. I will do this until I get the bike I bought about 3 months ago. Fell in love on eBay - bought it - and have been waiting for it since. 3 months is a long time waiting for a dream bike. (Luckily it's a…

G'day. I live in the home of enormous boody great tropical cyclones. Been riding a 1991 GPZ900R for the last 17 years and 240,000 kms until it tried to kill me a couple of months ago. Sadly it paid the supreme sacrifice and has been carted off to the wreckers. For some time I have been contemplating an upgrade and what I really sought was the current equivalent of the old GPZ. That is, something I could load up with all my gear for a comfortable 7600 km round trip to Phillip Island - something I've been doing for the last 15 years or so. Had been thinking along the lines of the 1200 Bandit until a friend suggested a look at the FZS1000 and as it turned out, th…

Many apologies I don't do many forums, I'm not only new to forums but i'm also new too both Yamaha bikes & motorbikes generally, bit of a late starter, 44! Started with the intention of doing direct access, combination of things mean't I have decided to leave direct access and start on a 125 which I bought on 0% which is good and 2 years warranty even better, build a bit of expierence and no claims hopefully before having another go at my bike test either 125 or big bike not sure yet but at least I can get some hours in first on this and who knows what bike I may have in a year. Really enjoy my 125 pottering about the countryside of Shropshire.

Hi all I am a born again biker after a gap of 20 years and decided now would be a good time to buy a FZR600, so I decided on buying a cheap 1989 model so its not new but quite a lot of work in progress but I like to tinker :-) , but the only real issue I have at the moment is the clutch if you pull away at very low revs IE tick-over its great but if you try this at 2000rpm + it just grabs launches the bike then the revs drop the clutch releases the revs rise it grabs again in a vicious circle and you go off down the road kangaroo style ,I thought it was me but several people have tried but the beast cannot be tamed any Ideas what I need to look at first? Kevin UK 50+ b…

Hello all, I apologise for this post being late as I have already intruded upon this forum with questions prior to introducing myself, but better late then never. My names Tom, I'm 21 and recently passed my CBT. I am looking at doing my full bike test however for the time being im just enjoying my 125 and learning the ropes of motorcycling. I also own a car and have been driving for a couple of years now so have some appreciation of the road. I have an interest in mechanics and work with electronics which is very handy. I recently carried out an engine swap on my bike which after much sweating and swearing, i managed to get it going and road worthy. Im current…

Just wanted to say hey to everyone. I have been lurking for a few weeks trying to get my recently acquired bike going. This site has already been a wealth of information for me and I appreciate the prompt responses and knowledge you all have to offer. I will be posting a few questions on one of the technical boards and any help would be wonderful. Thanks for any help and all y'all do. Cheers, Shawn.

Hi everyone, My name is Dave. I'm 33 and currently feel like i'm 17 because i'm about to realise a dream i've had since then. I'm about to start my Direct Access and get my full bike licence, and in preparation for this i bought an 92' XJ600 Diversion last weekend! maybe premature but to me its motivation because while its sat staring at me, it makes me want to ride it! Before posting this i have had good look around the forums and i'm glad ive joined. once ive figured out how to work everything i'll put up some pictures of my bike for those that are interested. I'd also like to apologize in advance if am inadvertently rude or dont observe the correct ettiquette,…

Just thought I'd introduce myself since I've been looking around here I've perhaps been a bit naughty and come on here without owning a bike as of yet but I've my heart set on a Dragstar 125 soon as I get the cash to run a CBT and buy the bike straight after (insure it etc) Figure its better that way, then I can get as much practice in before the test I'm a young 22 in Swansea tired of my car insurance stinging me for a car I barely use with no real engine, decided to go back to bikes (used to off road a little 50cc rev and go Italjet when I was 7-9 ^^ till the police came and shut us down.) Always loved cruiser style bikes, and had a recent realizati…

Hi All, just a quick note to introduce myself, my name is Simon, but people call me Wardy and I live in Birmingham in the UK and new to biking. I have recently purchased a 2004 FZ6, and can honsetly say, I am well pleased with the bike, and looking forward to many miles in the saddle. I also own a 1961 Lambretta that I have recently restored, but guess this will become an ornament, now that I have the Fazer to play on. If anyone knows of any ride outs that happen in or around Birmingham please let me know - I would like to meet a few of you guys if possible.

So I got a good telling off for not introducing myself. I was always told it was impolite to talk about myself so this will be brief. Bikes I've owned: Yamaha XT350 Yamaha RX135 Yamaha RXS100 and an Indian Pulsar 150. I've done two motorbike trips. One in India, Mumbai to the south tip. One from South Africa to Kenya. Cheers
