Hi All Just getting back into biking after a few years of not having a bike, just got my self a shiny 1998 Yamaha XVS 650 Dragstar classic, and loving it. Had a few bikes over the years, started with a Yamaha FS1E, and then Yamaha RS200, Susuki GT180, Yamahad RD250, Honda 250N, Yamaha SR500, Yamaha XJ600 and ridden a few other ones in between. Cheers Andy

Hi everyone, I'm a bit new to this so please bear with me!. I recently bought a 2007 DTX and I'm really pleased with it. Ater buzzing around for a couple of weeks I started to fiddle around a bit to improve performance. It has a full Dep exhaust system fitted and the restrictor wire mod to the speedo has been done. I was convinced that it was still heavily restricted however so I took off the exhaust (needed derusting anyway) and had a look up to check the position of the power valve ( as recommended on one of these forums ~ thanks). Looked like the valve was retarded so after noticing the locking pin section had broken off anyway (previous owner?) I undid the centre bol…

Hi, I bought a well cared for 1991 XJ900F a couple of months ago and I was very pleased with it but found the clutch very heavy and tiring to use, the cable looked original and felt stiff so I decided to replace it as a matter of course; the start of my problems! Finding neutral became tricky and acting on advice from the seller decided to clean the clutch plates, they looked OK flat with no warping and within manufacturers tolerances for thickness. On re-assembly engaging 1st gear stalled the engine with excessive drag. I replaced the clutch friction and plain plates with new just in case there was a problem I had not spotted but the same thing again excessive clutch …

Hi everyone, as you can see from my username I am very new to 2 wheel motoring and have recently acquired a YBR 125 Custom following a successful CBT. I have one question which may seem quite stupid to the experienced but here goes. I took my CBT on a Yamaha that had an engine kill switch to be used in emergencies only. The Custom does not appear to have this kills switch. Is this something I should be worried about or is it just a feature that is not on the custom? Many thanks

Hello there! My name is Harry, I'm 16 and live in East Sussex. I've been interested in motorbikes for a while, and am rebuilding some engines with my Dad. I'm pretty confident on a bike although I don't actually OWN a Yamaha yet, but hold your horses. I turn 17 on the 18th of September, and am looking at investing in a Yamaha Dragstar XVS 125. I've done extensive research on the Dragstar, and have found it tops out at 60MPH-70MPH, I’ve also heard that it's a very reliable bike and has a good economy. I love the fact that it's a V-Twin, the bike also engineered with heart, and looks and sounds fantastic! There's just a few things I could do with an array of opi…

After god knows how many years of not quite getting round to it I finally got round to getting my bike licence (which is now 4 days old). My YBR 125 custom will be picked up as soon as I can get to the dealer. Looking forward to getting to know the biking world (with a bit of help from this forum) and how to look after my new bike. Regards G

Hi guys! I just bought a 1980 YB100. Its my first Yamaha, all my previous bikes have been Hondas. I'm living in Malta but originally from Ireland. Bought the YB a a run-around for the island but the more I ride it the more its age is showing. Of course that might mean a restoration is on the way! A mechanical one at least... This is the 2nd 2-stroke I've owned but I didnt do much work on the 1st one so this is really a new beginning for me! Looking forward to chatting with ye on the forum.
