Hi, In my dotage I have decided to run a small 45 head of sheep in West Cumbria. I have purchased a 1995 or thereabaouts old banger Yamaha 350 4x4 quad to help me get around. I am trying to gain knowledeg on maintaining and running the quad. I last owned a motorbike in the early 60s so you will gather I am starting from a v low knowledge base. It starts and runs but I am in the process of tidying it up, including plastics and will replace all oils before putting it to work. I look forward to catching up on ideas and advise in this group. Regards quintain

Just picked up a nice Yamaha yzf r125, lots of fun! Will be looking to keep this for when i do my restricted licence and possibly even after that. Not looking to do that much modification to the bike except the exhaust system - i assume this is quite common? - any good brands/good sounding exhausts out there? Cheers

When I was a 14 I moved to South America from the US, and would see these motorcycles on the road, and dreamed about owning one every time I would see them. They usually had a push reel lawn mower standing on the back rack. 18 years later I found one in decent shape: a 1977 Torque Induction RS100. I have had it for a few years, and hope to never part with it. Thank you for having me.

Well, when I say new, I mean new to the forum. I've just pulled my XJ900F out of the garage and the last tax disc on it it showing November 1999. A lot has happened in those....er 13 years - two children and a 4 year stint in the USA along with quite a lot else. I now have a job on my hands bring it back up to a useable state and for someone who is not so mechanically minded I can see myself spending quite a lot of time on here... Wish me luck and I apologise now if I ask some really daft questions Steve

How is everyone? I have a 2005 Yamaha 650 V-Star and just finished putting in a new battery. I don't know if I am in right place to ask this question but my bike won't start untless I have the throttle pulled out. Now it will start if I am holding down the start button and revving it up at the same time. If I let go of the revving part, the bike dies. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi .. just thought i would introduce myself to everyone .. i am an older biker who likes bikes, (of course) guitars, women, food and just about everything .. but i hate people who pull out on me or gits on the phone while driving or picking their noses or scratching their bits or doing various other disgusting things instead of concentrating on their driving... anyway that's my introduction to you all ..

Hi all, Quick first post for you. I'm Mark, I've just bought a 1988 RXS100 to get to work and back instead of a car, which was costing me a fortune.. First ever bike at the age of 38, and now wish I'd got into it ages ago. Very limited knowledge of bikes, but I've done a few bits and bobs with the help of a trusty Haynes manual. So far it's had a new seat cover, gearbox oil change, new air filter, new mirrors and a bloody good clean. Needs a few other bits tidying and sorting, but bought it with a years T&T, so should keep me going for a bit. Anyway enough running on, here's some pics - Cheers ta Mark

Evening all, Name is Mohammed, live in Manchester City Centre. Bought my first bike from Yamaha Chesterfield, WR125X Aug 2012. Looking to do the full licence in good time. Just getting a feel of the bike, speed, manuvoures etc etc. Did my first proper long journey today to Chesterfield itself for the bikes first service, all i can say is it was cold!!! Thrilling ride though, shame the 125 lacks top end speed but what do you expect from a 124cc engine??? Took me 1hr 30mins down the A6 non stop, litterly. Very much enjoy the *nod* you give to your fellow riders... nod nod, haha Hope to trade in for 600 when i do pass, something to look forward to i guess. Thats all folk…

Hi, I am David from Australia. I stumbled upon this site checking out ideas for a bike project. I can see it's going to be a brilliant source of inspiration. I have a 2011 650 Classic as my daily ride. I just scored a 1994 1100 Virago as a donor bike for my project. My initial plan was to bob it, but I am not so sure now after consideration of the frame construction and my abysmal knowledge of all things mechanical. I dare say that will change as I eventually progress this project. First thing is to see if I can get the beast to fire up. It had been sitting idle for some years. But not in to bad a state really.I was lucky enough to get it very cheap and if it…
