Hi there, I'm 16 in March and I have got myself a Yamaha DT50Mx (1987). The bike needs a bit of a tidy up, paint, fork seals and a few other bits. My dad has had a bike accident and my mum doesn't want me on the road, but I have a pit bike and I'm still learning. For the past 2 years I've been excited about getting a moped but I'm not sure if I'll ever get on the thing. Would it be worth upgrading up to a newer dt50 with disc brakes, better lighting etc just to make riding safer? Hope to hear back from you.

Hey All! Been prowling the Yamaha/Vintage sites for years now. Diving in now. Not brand new to the Moto world but close enough. Had a '80 Suzuki GSX ~5 years that was put to rest after a Montero did some cosmetic alteration to it - without my permission (or serious injury thank God). hi my names andy im 19, i've only really worked on ped engines before but now i got myself a dt 125 to learn and do my full test on and to tinker around with the engine abit then hopefully upgrade to a wr 250 or 450 not sure yet

Well riding is done here in Wisconsin, US, except for my crazy brother who did go for a ride before our first snowfall yesterday ! My bike for now is a 1981 xs1100, have a little work to do on it over the winter. Had a good long ride last August out west of about 1800 miles. Thanks to all for their stories and knowledge , Rod J

Hi all, recently aquired a 96 DT125R to go with my Tiger 955i. Mainly want it for greenlaning around east sussex/kent area. Will be looking for advice on tyre choices, gearing etc. Great bikes, always liked them. Only had one Yam before, a 1978 XS250 which I owned from 80-82, I loved it but it wasn't to cool at the time when the RD250's were most hooligan's weapon of choice!

Hello! Last weekend, during a visit home to see family, I bought my dad's bike. A 1983 Virago XV500. About a year ago he bought the bike from a family friend with the intent of using it as a commuter bike. He did what was needed to get it running, and then just let it sit, running it occasionally just to make sure it still ran. Since he wasn't using it, I decided it would be better off being my commuter bike. I know I need to replace the front tire and should probably replace the rear one, too even though the tread looks fine. Any thoughts? I'd like to find an owner's/repair manual. Hello there started on the road with a DT250 in 79 , then went kawasaki 1300 , ended up with a mates 1.1s in 96 , put 140,000 on that ,only trouble i had was the cdi unit at 90,000 , a boyer branson unit and dyna coils sorted that , worn out starter cluch and no time to fix it led to a fj1200 1tx last year , got a yb100 deluxe standing next to it , thats the work horse , saving me a fortune going to work , theres about 8 of the lads got them now , looking to do a few rallys in a blue smoke haze next year , heheheh .

Hello everyone...Does anyone know the color code for a Yamaha 1979 DT175F. The color is silver with red stripes. It seems that the tank and fenders are supposed to be the same color. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Very Much! Mike

Hi everyone Sorry not a new topic but couldn't see how else to do intro. Been meaning to join since I got my xv535 last spring but getting it roadworthy after a 10 year lay up and enjoying the summer didn't get around to it. BUT.......... I now have a non running, part stripped, siezed clutch and shabby looking XV750 to keep me off the streets during winter so will probably be on here a bit when I get stuck. Not to mention the Honda I have been threatening to restore but it is fun and runs like a dream so it will have to wait. See you all later
