Latecomer to the forum world here, Did my CBT and got on in February 2012 with a Yamaha YBR as my trusty steed, but only now really starting to come into my own with taking it more seriously and riding out regularly. I started out in the countryside and moved to Bristol only a month after doing my CBT so it's been a massive learning curve and I'm just waiting to put aside enough to pass my full test (no small feat these days with all the financial doom and gloom!). Finally sorting my lovely bike with a proper service and getting on the road good and proper- the YBR's been a pleasure to ride so far

I am in the process of finalizing my decision on my 1st bike since my Penton 125 around 35 years ago. I was supposed to drive out and see and subsequently bring my new bike home this past week but hurricane Sandy changed my plans. I was hoping for some insights on the two bikes I have narrowed down to: 1979 XS750 Special with 40K mi 1981 XS650 Special II with 23K mi I wish to enjoy riding and just as important take care of and preserve a classic bike. Both are in great shape and riding condition and I like them both and are about the same price so it's a matter of just going with my gut but in case there is some words of wisdom from anyone I would appre…

Hello all, I remember subscribing here a while back now but cant remember whether I introduced myself and haven't been on in a long time. Firstly my name is Tom and I own a SR125. I've only got a CBT but I have my bike theory tomorrow and have my mod 1 booked for next week. I have been riding for less then a year but i have to say that it is the best form of transport. After playing around on a bike I was convinced I wanted to give it a go so i went and got myself on a CBT. I spent a good couple of months cruising around on my bike until i decided to do an engine + carb swap. Since then I haven't really been out on the roads much mainly due to distractions keeping m…

I have been riding for thirty eight years and owned over thirty Yamaha's in that time. Most of that time spent in the UK but I now live in Canada. At present I own five complete Yamaha's and parts to probably build another three. A 72 DT2 which is almost ready to roll, a 1978 IT175 which my girlfriend rides, two YZ250's, a 1980 and a 91. My street bike is a 1992 TDM850 which seems to be very rare over here, I've not seen another. They were only sold here for one year and two years in the states I believe. I've owned plenty of RD's in my time and maybe I'll get another one one day. Tony M Stony Plain Alberta

  7. Hello, My fine lady just gave me an 06 V Star 1100 Classic as by 50th Birthday Gift. First bike, and I doubt it will be my last. Haven't spent but 2 days on it, and with Winter coming on in Seattle, it will probably be a few months before much more time is spent. Love it so far, and looking forward to more. I'm a Creative Director for a Video Production company. Native to Seattle and have spent many years in the medie around here. Looking forward to checking out the posts and seeing what happens here. Cheers. Doug https://www.dropbox....STAR 1100 2.JPG

Hello fellow biker buddies, Im currently rating my recent purchase of an immaculate 95 FZR600R, but slating the pants weather battering Blighty at the mo. Just a bit of dry will do, dont mind the cold. Had a lil blast on saturday when I picked it up from previous owner, but thats all so far. Im looking forward to a few rides out with friends. This is my first big bike, have road a bandit, a gs500 and a Gladius in training but theres no way they measure up to my FZR. I was actualy on the lookout for a CBR 6OO F4 but got an offer I couldn't refuse an so it begins....

Just a quicky to introduce myself. I live in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. I have just bought a Yam XS750 Triple. I always liked the Triumph Trident as a kid but these are much more affordable and probably more reliable. The bike is in pretty good condition but just needs a bit of TLC. Hope to use it as my Sunday bike in the spring. Cheers

Hi, I have been into motorbikes all my life but never owned own until 8days ago! I was in the motorbike shop paying for my wife's scooter when I saw a 51reg SR125 for £600. I have looked at and sat on some chinese bikes but they have never felt right. I have had three operations on my spine so I need a comfortable ride and some thing that is not harsh and as soon as I sat on the SR I knew it was the bike for me. I managed to haggle the guy down to £550, new MOT, service and a full tank of petrol plus free delivery. Here are few pics of my bike in the shop and when I got home.Ive got a topbox and rack off the wifes old MBK NITRO scooter she had. The rack will nee…

Hello everyone, im new to this forum, never been on a motorcyle forum or any forum for that matter.i'm a med student from Brighton, got myself a 1979 Yamaha XS 250 and trying to bring her back on her wheels. i've very limited engineering knowledge, learned some engineering at college and worked with my dad on his old trusty royal enfield. im going to start a topic on the classic section, and will post you guys what's going on with my xs250 rebuild. im pretty sure, you all will be laughing at my naive mistakes, but hoping you guys will share your thoughts, may be some tips at time. thank you for reading. Hello all, new member here. I just bought a 75 DT400 recently. It runs good but was used mainly for offroading and trail riding so the PO took off most off the body work and electrical stuff. This is the first bike Ive ever owned and I'm hoping I can make it better! I do have a few questions about it, so if anyone could help please head over to that thread Thanks and happy riding!

Hi all, I've just joined having recently bought an SR500. I had one twenty years ago but let it go cheap for the usual reasons i.e. wife and kids so this one's my middle age crisis. I also had an RD250LC when they first came out. I'll be on here to pick a few people's brains regarding running the SR. The first thing I need to know is is it OK to run the SR on unleaded petrol? I'm from the UK by the way.
