I’ve just purchased a 1998 XJ600N. The clutch lever is quite stiff / difficult to operate. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. Hi all! New poster here, only just found out this place existed. Have been enjoying a R3 for years. So as you may be familiar, the MT07 comes in restricted and derestricted versions. In AUS it's the MT07LAMS vs MT07HO. Slightly lower capacity in CC's, throttle stop, internal air intake restrictions. Imagine my surprise when I stepped up from a R3 to a MT07HO today, and it felt around 30% faster. much torquer, but a little choking in the top end, vs the expected balls tearing 2x as much power to redline experience, then looked at my throttle stop. Can anyone confirm my suspicions from this image? Also of note, no HO branding/stickers anywhere.

Fairly new rider here and new to the forum. Absolutely loving the TDM I treated myself, and I (was) planning some tours this year before this damn virus hit! I have a GIVI topbox on my TDM and want some additional luggage but not sure whether a full pannier rack and luggage is necessary or whether a tail seat bag would do the trick. Weekend tours only at this stage so I'm thinking I don't need too much capacity. Can anyone advise from their own experience? Trying to upload a photo of my bike but cant workout how to get past this 2MB file size limit!

Hello, i need some advise, the motorcycle fz6n has been "stored" in a garage for about 7 months w/o doing anything to it. 3 days ago i started it, i washed it and it had no problems at that moment. In the last 3 days, sometimes it had some start issues(starting from 2nd, 3rd time) and i felt that at idle rpm when i wanted to move it a bit by being in the friction zone it started to be unstable and even with a bit of power it stopped. Today i tried to start it and in the video you can hear that it doesn't start, after 4th try i heared gunshot-like sound from the engine P. S. In these 3 days i did like 2miles.

Hi all. I believe this is the best place to ask for some advice. I have, what I believe, a lovely motorbike which I don't know what is the best way to find a new home for. Any advice? You can find all the details of it here: https://www.lotussilverstone.co.uk/vehicle-details/Yamaha-MT-01-U215/

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of what handlebars I can put onto an MT-125 ABS 2015 model. I want to replace the old rusty ones. I know there's a bunch of universal ones but I'm not sure what size is needed. Also, I'm very lazy and cba to find out myself... Thanks.

  13. Hi The headlamp blew on my XJ6. I have removed the old bulb and replaced with a new H4 type. The bulb does not light. I have tested the voltage at the bulb connector that pushes into the back of the bulb and there is no voltage. I have tested the terminals into which the bulb fuse fits and there is no voltage there. The 20A headlamp bulb is not broken. All other electrical components seem to work ok. The bike starts fine. Does anyone know where else I check to see if some wiring connection is loose to explain why the bulb doesn't light? Regards, Clive

Hi everyone, I have an MT09 2017 with a full Akrapovic exhaust and I recently went to a garage to fit a power commander V on it. So it was fitted, put on a dyno and got tottal of 128 bhp a gain of 12bhp. I just want to know your opinion on this result. Thank you

Hi All, I have a 2015 MT-07 which I bought used a year ago. It rode fine for that last year without any major issues. It currently has almost 16,000 miles on the clock and was fully serviced few months ago. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that about half way though my commute (12 miles each way) it's getting harder and harder to select Neutral; up to a point where I'm unable to select it when I stop at the junction. I have to select Neutral while still riding towards the junction. Never had any issues selecting Neutral before so it's not the lack of my skills ;-) Am I facing a bigger issue with a gearbox?

  16. Started by Alex,

I adjusted the chain tension on the MT to the specs in the 2017 manual, 5-15mm. It was incredibly tight, I could hear the drive-train whining when I rid the bike, I've slacked it off to 25mm and I still think it needs more play. I phoned three Yamaha dealers and they recommended between 15-35mm but no one actually knows what the exact tension Yamaha recommend is. The issue for me is that the bike is under warranty and the manual states frame damage may occur if play is over 25mm. I've just sent a follow up email to Yamaha as they are saying the manual is correct. Does anyone have a different year MT/FZ which states a different range?

hey guys, first of all first time owning a yamaha, i have not been riding a bike for long(about a year). quick question, i recently acquired a YAMAHA FZS600 (2000) and one of the front discs has a slight gauge in it, it brakes absolutely fine with no issues. my question is if i am getting them replaced, is there a specific size i need to get, or can someone point me in the right direction for a low budget decent set, as i would not just buy the one i would replace both including the pads. many thanks in advance

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on the MT09 as I'm thinking about getting one. I swear I read somewhere that the throttle mapping issues were fixed on the 2015 model and that there was a suspension update. Or do they still need the modified cartridges? Cheers in advance

Hi all, I'm reposting a topic I raised on reddit with the hope someone here may have experienced the same issue and fixed it? Sorry for the copy / Pasted black text. " Hi Chaps and Chapettes, So I've had my MT07 for around a month - 2 months and with about 1700 miles on the clock and today something quite troubling happened, the bike cut out with the clutch in going in a roundabout. Luckily for me I was only going 20mph, if I were going lets say 10mph more, it would have been an absolute disaster. It looks like a similar issue posted a few years ago - https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoUK/comments/4eh6k3/advice_yamaha_mt07_engine_stallingcutting_out/ B…
