Got taken out in the fog at 20mph today (weds 13) by myopic pesioner waiting till the last minuite to pull out in front of me....nuff said. broken collar bone and damage all down LH side of 2006 R1.(didnt make its 1st bday on Mar 1) THIS IS THE CRUCIAL BIT..........WILL PROBABLY END IN A LAW SUIT. (HOPE NOT) A fellow 06 R1 owner had an almost identical spill on a roudabout last April. His bike went down on the RH side and cost thick end of £1000 to replace: clutch cover, side panel, air intake, seat unit, top faring, screen, brake lever, mirror, indicator etc... At the time he had no pillion pegs fitted, (so they did not dig in and damage rear subframe). a…

  6. Started by bazza,

I've recently bought an 02 R6 with only 3k on the clock, all original and no tell tale signs of excessive hard riding. I have put about 300 miles on it and twice now (only twice) at hard acceleration it has jumped out of gear, part of me feels if there was a problem it would happen far more often another part feels that there must be something wrong. Is it possible for the rider to not quite put it in gear solidly enough so it does jump out at high revs or is it a case of if it's in it's in and shouldn't come out? Any help would be good. Bazza

  7. Started by Skyelife,

Hi folks: I'm hoping to dust down my old jacket etc and get back out on 2 wheels after a spell of 9 years of not biking. I've recently bought an old 1987 YX600 Radian as a project to work on, so that hopefully I will be able to get back out on the road by the summer. I need a few parts and am having difficulty in locating them - if anyone can help me, i'd be most grateful - the bits that I need are: - Front brake master cylinder - Front brake light switch - The Rubbers which sit between the carbs and the airbox - Fuel Tap Seal Kit Fingers crossed! Hope you can help. Many thanks, Steve.

  19. Started by tumbleweed,

I just bought a 1999 WR 400 and it is a B#$%H to crank I have tried rolling the throttle a couple of times since the previous owner told me it had a carb pump then getting it just past top dead center using the compression release choking it, and kicking and kicking and kicking there has got to be something that will make this thing crank a little easier. What is the red choke button for? I have been using the black one? thanks for anyone willing to answer, anybody want buy an otherwise nice 400?

  20. I'm new to biking and have just ordered a new FZ6 as my first real bike after passing my test. Would be grateful for any advice on running in the engine (rev limits etc) and scrubbing in new tyres. Also, as the bike will be mainly used as a get-to-work-weapon (about 50 miles a day) what is the feeling regarding scottoilers? Many thanks - glad to be here at last (nearly 40 and this is part of a well planned mid0life crisis!)
