If someone responds to your topic what is the best way to get back in touch with them? I have responded via replys and have had mixed results. If you put someone on your friends list do they get an e-mail or some other kind of notice without them having to return to the forum and topic they replied to ? If so how do you put someone on your friends list? Thanks to all. Ed

Hi, I thought I'd ask the experts about a 50cc machine for my son. I've been looking at bikes like the Aprillia, Gilera and Derbi when I came across a 1989-90 (G) DT50 being rebuilt by A yamaha shop in Poole (local to me). I have a few questions: 1) are parts hard to get? 2) is it a good bike for everyday use? 3) is £950 a fair price? 4) is there anything I need to look out for? This is the sort of bike I would have ridden when i was a young whipper-snapper, but don't want to be swayed by nostalgia! Thanks in advance Tony

Just fitted a Conti Sport Attack in compound C to the rear of my 1000 and in my opinion it is every bit as good, if not better than the michelin Pilot Power 2ct. In the wet it actually seems considerably better. I still consider the Michelin as hard to beat on the front but the Conti is most definately an excellent drive tyre and quite a bit cheaper as well! Considering how much poor weather some of you folk encounter,I thought you may like to know of a tyre that has great all round characteristics and these certainly do! HAVE A BLAST! Paul.

Hi all, I had never been on a bike before December. Now I've whipped through the direct access scheme and bought my first bike. It was like love at first sight my '07 R6 in blue. We've spent a week together so far and she scares the shit outta me, but I'm reigning her in slowly and building my confidence. anyway... I live in Barrow-in-furness in the lakes are there any meets or good rides that anyone can share with me? At what rev count should I be shifting on standard road riding? (I'm not used to such a large rev range) Do I need to clean my bike EVERYDAY with so much salt on the roads? ( Hope to speak to you all soon. Cheers, Parkey5

A man is sitting at home watching TV one night, when there is a knock at the door. The man annoyed at missing his programme answers the door to find a 6ft Stag Beetle standing on the step. After he asks the beetle what the hell it is doing calling at such a late hour, the creature lays into him with a series of vicious kicks and punches, It then walks away whilst the man crawls back into his house to call for an ambulance. At the Hospital the man is reluctant to tell the Doctor how he came about his injuries, but eventually realtes the incredible tale of the Stag Beetle, expecting to be laughed at. To his surprise the Doctor is sympathetic, explaining to the man …

Hi all, new to this forum but not new to bikes. Had several over the years but my favorites were always Yamaha's. I would really like to try and locate my first Yamaha, a Fizzy of course! Can anyone give me some pointers as to where to start looking? Any help/advice would be much apprectiated. Thanks, Leigh

Just thought I would introduce myself as I've been lurking around for a while now. New(ish) rider, did my CBT last september and bought an SR125, which has been great fun, looking forward to summer and not having my visor steam up in the cold! Considering doing my full test when money permits but for the time being I'm happy on my 125, and the sense of satisfaction when topping 60mph on that thing is still great fun. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Also been looking around the Bike Chat Forums but this place seems much less bitchy!!

Look's like today's the day for new recruits. I've been lurking for some time now - just thought I'd break the ice an' say hello. I've returned to biking after a 15 year lay-off bought a shagged foxeye in view of a quick spruce up, and got kind of carried away with an over the top refurb (or it will be - when I can organise my lazy arse). So, do the new blokes get the beer's in?
