hello, new to the forum, had this r6 for a couple years, second gear has started to fail on me due to generall abuse, its popping in to neutral and making dirty noise ,, ive been told that getting a new engine for my 99 model r6 is the best thing to do, is this sound advice? and does any1 kow any where to get a decent low milage second hand engine and gear box, for around the 400 mark... thanks dan.

Lincolnshire echo today reports a car driver doing 130mph on the dual carriageway. http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/1...il/article.html He pleaded guilty and has been banned from driving for 15 months, as well as fined £450 plus £400 costs. IF HE WAS ON A BIKE HE'D'VE BEEN SENT TO JAIL!

Hi all, just joined here, and just bought a 2008 ybr 125, having done cbt at age 46 (fellow trainees aged 17-24, and all much more competent). Scary ride home from the shop, several stalls, two involuntary wheelies. Since then (last thu) have just practised throttle and clutch control round local streets. I'm probably a bit unusual having never owned a petrol vehicle before, but have cycled since age five. Plan to get out into the countryside around Newcastle soon, and swotting up for theory test.

Hi there, I bought an open face helmet last week, and took the visor out - presumably its still "street legal?" as its not compromising the overall integrity of the helmet - supose its down to the failure modes of the helmet - i.e. i might have done myself a favour by removing it - for instance, if I were to crash, a shard of the visor could poke an eye, or even 2, or en a pair of eyes, and a piuerced throat (hmmm - I know - pessimistic, but it could happen...)... So tell me peeps, would I get pulled over for wearing my open face without the visor, and of course, with my terminator shades?!?!.. regards, -Mits-

I had my WR fully rewired a while ago and was told by the guy that because it's DC or AC or whatever he couldn't add indicators. Still charged me an obscene amount for the job, granted he did a tidy job and I've never had issues with it since. Was just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how I'd go about doing this as I've seen some WR's out there with indicators on them. I've got the indicator switch on the handlebar already. many thanks John

Hi all, I am planning on buying a wr450 and would just like as much advice as I can get on them before I buy one. I have a couple of specific questions but in addition to that any information would be welcomed: How long do the engines last for if properley serviced How often do you have to service them Is there a particular model and year to avoid or aim for Are there any particular things to look at when viewing to buy Does the overall design change after a certain year What are the pros and cons of the wr450 Would really appreciate any advice, I am planning on riding on road and green laning. ok, so im new to this thing so lets see if it works. i recently bought a 2001 YZ426f and the suspension on it is wayyyyyy to light for me. i think it is set up for a rider that is only like 190lbs but i weigh 210 so i need help with fiinding a web site or just getting brand names of rear springs and front springs. thanxs, 426rider

Hi, my mate has a 2002 R6 and needs new tyres. He doesnt have access to the net, what do you recommend for all round usage. Im thinking Dunlops but he got told by a RR rider to go for bridgestones. Mainly country road blasting than motorway or out. Thanks

Had a fantastic ride out today, apart from a few minor discrepancies... Start of the ride some dick slams his anchors on to avoid a Feasent.... Bang my mate clips his flank ripping his R6 in half! (He's ok) So we wait about an hour he goes home, we set off again! Unreal ride... Just going round a big long roundabout into the town i live, like iv done a hundred times! then oh no don't look now the dreaded patch of oil! Dropped the bike about 40mph, slid watching as the bike spun into the curb... Nice!

Just curious as I'm selling my YBR125 at the moment and have advertised it in a few places. However, I was wondering if a dealer would buy it even if I wasn't trying to buy one off them? I realise they'd only offer me crappy trade prices but this may give me more flexibility to buy a bike privately since there are much better deals out there to be made on private sales at the mo (if buying used).

Can somebody out there suggest where i can get the torque settings ie; head,wheel nuts from for a 1971 YAS1. I have the clymer service manual which tells you all other info except these settings.Just the head nut settings would be usefull cheers !
