  1. Mate of mine is doing a charity ride to Peru and one of her sponsors is the Army. The White Helmets donation to the ride is a free off road training weekend at Bovington Camp in Dorset...... and I have been invited along Always wanted to have a go at this, I love mountain biking and skiing and was always up to my neck in muck as a kid so I reckon this is going to be a fun weekend. Just waiting for the bumpf to come through the post, but any experienced mud skidders on here can offer some words of wisdom so I get the most out of the 2 days ?

Hello everyone!! I just got in from my first ride on my 1987 (or 89... I'm not sure!) Yamaha Radian 600. It rode very nice! I traded it for an old GMC pickup truck, and I LOVE it. It's very sharp, and has 5,500 miles logged. My first (of many, I'm sure) questions is this: What maintenance should I perform right now? The last guy owned it for about a year, and he didn't even know where to put oil in, which pains me. I'm a Land Rover owner and I love working on stuff- so if there is a list of maintenance that all new owners should perform, I'd love to see it! THANK YOU, everyone!! -NewB

  9. Hi everyone, i forgot to introduce myself so i thought i'd throw this up and let you see the bloody mess i've made of a nice bike. I've just bought an 'Ace for a few long trips over Summer with me mates and the missus in Europe. Its not the first Yam i've owned and truth be told all my mates still consider me to be a Yamaha Man, over the years i've had DT50, RS125, YB100, YPVS350, FZ750, FZR600, FZR1000 Gen, and probably a few more i've forgotten. I bet the pics dont work, i'm Terry Fuckwit when it comes to 'puters.

just a quick question! on a normal sunday ride out how fast does the average bloke or lady ride before they say thats fast enough and they back off the throttle and say THIS IS STUPID!. Bearing in mind its a nice national speed limit road they know and the weathers perfect an all that stuff. I know people are going 2 say, depends on the bike and the experience of the rider, but everybody has a limit don't they? is it just nudge the 60mph limit or abliterate it!!!!!!!!!. thanks.

Having a chat at work today and Pete asked me when i was going to restore the old nail (the DT). I said i wouldnt want to as after having the bike since 1988 just about every scratch dent and bodge are mine. Its generally tidy although the engine needs some hugs and kisses, rattle can paintjob and it has been used to commute, trail, enduro. Everything. He couldn't see this and said it would look great if i restored it to its former glory. We couldnt agree and i wonderd what you lot thought......?

Hi First of all hello to all I'm new on here and from Dublin Ireland. I do not own a Yamaha at the moment but have owned many in the past and am looking to get a Yam 2 stroke. In the past I have come accross a number of RGV 250's with RG 500 engines fitted. Then I thought why not put an RD500 engine into a TZR. Has anyone ever done this?? What do you think?? Regards Brian
