I have recently been contracted by a large company to locate a service provider to fulfill a uniquely fascinating requirement. On behalf of this client, I seek motorcycle restoration facilities throughout the United Kingdom, to restore a considerably sizeable fleet of imperfect motorcycles, of mixed makes and models (the majority being Yamaha), to an as-new condition. This fleet of motorcycles have been acquired from varying sources, for example, via auctions, second hand sales, etc.

The client intends to utilise this large fleet of restored motorcycles in four areas; motorcycle taxis, motorcycle courier services, motorcycles for hire (and Tours), and as-new motorcycle sales, in varying key locations throughout the United Kingdom.

Can anyone here provide this service for a percentage of the motorcycles in the fleet? If you can help, or point me to the right people, please get in touch via [email protected], and we can then discuss costs, terms and determine the percentage of motorcycles you or your contacts could work with.

Best Regards,

Mr. Harry Taggart

I find it saddening that my posting received such a childish response from what was assumed to be a serious group of people. It is not a "SPAM" message as the image represents, but rather a very serious offer to some Yamaha club members to possibly earn very good money for this restoration contract. If all I am to receive are graphics claiming the message to be spam then I am wasting my time with the owner's club, which was recommended to me via someone at Yamaha itself. If there are any serious members of the forum whom may be interested, I would urge them to contact me for serious discussion on the matter.

Harry - in this day and age what did you expect!! The Web-site at the end of your message isn't exactly informative. You've given no details of yourself in the profile and all we know is that you have a 'client' wanting you to find someone to do the work  99.9% of us are a 'serious group' of people but, as the name suggests - this is the Yamaha 'Owners' Club not a restoration factory

I'm sure that anyone in the group will contact you if they are interested in your offer and, if it's genuine, good luck to them. In my view, if something sounds too good to be true - it usually is!! ;) And, if you are a spammer you don't need all 99.9% of us 'serious group' members to tell you what and where to go B)B)

I'm surprised at the restoration of these bikes as a 'business proposition'

since the restoration of bikes is normally done by owners who put their own 'free' time into the project. Even then the final value of the bike is unlikely to match what has been spent on parts ans services etc but people do it just because they love their old bikes and take a great deal of pride in what they achieved.

ok, fair enough - however, you post the address for your business up here and i will personally visit (anywhere in the UK) and report back to this forum with details of the companies you have been contracted by, as well as the potential for profit for those who work with you.

I came to this forum via the suggestion of a Yamaha Motor employee whom had the impression that my client's very real proposition would be welcomed. Usually a spammer would post information directing people to a money-making facility of some sort, however, as anyone can see, there is nothing to be gained by myself via the web page, and if anyone emailed me directly via the address listed they would have obtained full details of the contract offered.

restoration of the bikes in question is for purely commercial reasons of my client's, and perhaps their impression of motorcycle restoration is different than some other people's, but that shouldn't warrant the negative impact this forum posting has gained.

If there are any 'serious' motorcycle restorers among the Yamaha Club, whom do not judge so readily, and would like the opportunity to potentially gain financially (if chosen by the client), then please do contact me. I would hope anyone not interested would be mature enough to refrain from posting more negative or abusive comments or graphics as this only given a poor impression of the club and it's members.

Thank you.

Why has your web-page got 'dodgy' written all over it, not a good start, is it <_<
