  1. Hopefully it will, I just realized I've been away from this place too long.
  2. And pray tell where are you going in such a hurry?! Life is meant to be enjoyed at a nice slow pace.......... ok I'm just old. (Altho not as old as OG! )
  3. Specificity works better for me, I don't want to get a pair of long johns underwear instead of a heated garage simply because it was a cheaper alternative!
  4. I can't believe nobody's though of what I'm about to offer for a dream garage: Everything I already have PLUS: -A car lift -a motorcycle adaptation for the car lift -and the garage has to be heated (in the winter) and air conditioned (in the summer) I don't care about having a lot of toys if I'm miserable in the garage because I'm freezing my nads off crouching on the garage floor when I could be working at eye level.
  5. One sentence, and that's all eh? Ok. No problem: "The girls, why else." The guys that deny this know they're lying outright.

    Site Update!

Cheers guys and lady. But doesn't this mean I now have to make sure I kiss more than one ass? And yes, I know the proper depth YamaHead!
  7. Let me point this out before I do the rest of my post: thank you for pointing out that the reason she won was the coffee was undrinkably hot. I'm not going to argue this to the ends of the earth since there are a multitude of arguments that could be used, but I will point this out: common sense would dictate that your coffee would be hot, note I did not say how hot. Everybody has burnt their tounge on a hot beverage at some point and learned the valuable lesson of sipping to see how hot the beverage is before going toungefirst into it. The company knew their coffee was hot? Wow, that's a crime. Hot coffee. I guess that's why coffee places now serve their coffee hot and cold. Going back to the main point, common sense should be used by everybody, not a rare few.
  8. This one still causes quite a bit of amazement in me, the fact that the legal system didn't laugh outright at her and tell her to grow a brain and get out of the courtroom. I actually use this example when people ask me why the judicial system is messed up. We now have laws for everything, including having to include a legal warning on insulated coffee cups pointing out that the beverage inside may be hot. I'm still waiting for the day a man drops an ice cold drink into his laps and his balls shrivel up causing him to get into an accident and getting a huge settlement for that.
  9. Not to mention all the threads on here describing how to do it with pictures!

    oldgitonabike

I was thinking you were sniffing the petrol fumes a bit too much until I checked his photobucket and you're right. He does have his bike picture in quite a few different colors. Good job oldgitonabike, I didn't notice until Shokz pointed that out.
  11. Read Cynic's post(s) carefully, I think he's got the solution to both of your problems and he's been repeating it and none of you are reading it. You need to BALANCE AND SYNCHRONIZE your carbs. If they're not balanced then of course one side is going to be stronger than the other. Sorry Cynic, I know you've been trying to help.
  12. Count me in for some stickers if they get made!
  13. It's 50cc's, how much acceleration do you honestly think you can get out of it? 40mph sounds pretty good for a 50cc machine. It'd probably accelerate a lot faster without you on it!
  14. As the others said, you should get everything they said in writing. If they want you to display it on your instrument cluster, get it in writing. If they tell you that you don't need to display it, get it in writing. Go appeal it, there's no way you can lose that one. Positive side, even if you lose the case, at least you will have had a judge tell you what you did wrong. And then when (and if) the judge says to put the badge on the instrument cluster, just bill him every time it gets stolen!
  15. The guy's a prick. You should have picked up an air gauge and measured his tires and told him that his tire pressures were wrong and that you'd be reporting him. That'd get him thinking.
  16. I'm almost ready to get my bike back onto the road, finishing up some work on the bike. I've got a few questions to placate my mechanically inept brain. 1. I replaced the clutch cable with a new one since the old one gave up the ghost, I think I may have overtightened the clutch. I was thinking about taking out the clutch rod that goes from the cable assembly over to the clutch. My question is this, the book says that I can just take out the rod (it's a one piece rod right?) and make sure it's straight. It also says that I should check to make sure the ball is in the right place so I can use a rod with a magnet on the end of it to take out the ball. Does this all sound right? Should I have the fear of god put into me for taking out the rod? If it all looks good then I'll just measure the clutch cable and see if maybe the damn thing's a bit too long. 2. I broke off the top of a grease zerk, I'm now wondering how to unscrew the rest of the zerk that's still in there. Anybody have any suggestions? (Yes, I did say I was mechanically inept in the first sentence of this didn't I?! ) I've cleaned the carbs out, so the only thing I'm going to have the shop do is to put in some new fork oil in the front (unless you guys can convince me that I'm not going to botch the job) and rebuild the master brake (I don't want to go down the road and find out I don't have any brakes because I f**ked up!) and then have them do the inspection the merrily go down the road on the bike. Any other suggestions?
  17. Me too. I was like, uhm, hey. Shit, what do I do now?! Alex, let us know if you need some help, I'd be glad to chip in some money into the tip jar to help pay for some of the bandwidth I'm needlessly using!
  18. My compliments, that's one of the best jokes I've read lately!
  19. I suppose I'm close enough, I'm in rochester.

    ultrasonic cleaners

Update- Well, as one2dmax said above, don't use tap water! It leaves a mineral residue, or it's just that my tap water sucks around here I suppose. He's also right about the water cleaning the parts, takes bloody forever, it'll clean the big open spots pretty quickly but not the smaller parts like the jets. I'm going to try to put in (somebody recommedended?) the green cleaner fluid since it's biodegradable and supposedly safe for plastic parts? Amazing that a search for ultrasonic cleaner will bring up tons of ultrasonic cleaners but fluids for the cleaner doesn't bring up that much! At least I'm having fun cleaning the carbs. Who says new toys aren't fun?

    ultrasonic cleaners

I've got an interesting question for you fellers: I've just bought an ultrasonic cleaner that I thought would be big enough to put the carbs in and turns out that it'll only take 3/4 of the carb. I was wondering if I could just ultrasonically clean 3/4 of the carb then turn it around and then clean the other side that wasn't in the water? Would that damage anything or do anything bad? I tested out the ultrasonic cleaner on the fuel bowls and wow, it sure cleaned those bowls out really well with just tap water! If you guys say it'll be ok to have some of the carbs sticking out above the water then I'm keen to take a shot at it and see how well it cleans the rest of the carbs.

    ultrasonic cleaners

I need to clean my carbs out again and Harbor Freight (cheap parts store) sells a few different ultrasonic cleaners and I've heard good things about using them to clean carbs. The only part I'm foggy about is exactly what people use with the ultrasonic cleaner, most people say they use plain water, some people say they put in some stuff along with the water. The good plus about ultrasonic cleaners is that you can practically put the whole carb in as opposed to taking it apart (altho I'd take most of it apart just to make sure it cleans the whole thing.) One common warning I've seen, don't use it in the house. Stinks up the place to high heaven apparently. One plus about ultrasonic cleaner is that it doesn't damage plastics and rubbers like carb cleaner chemicals do. And the other plus is that it doesn't involve chemicals. If some of you experienced laddies that've used ultrasonic cleaners could chime in about what you use with the ultrasonic cleaner, that'd be cool.

    Leathers

Damn, that jacket sure got pretty damn damaged. How bad was the accident and do you still have an arm left? From the looks of the jacket, looks like you landed right on your right side eh?
