  1. I will update on the next resto which is my lads XT250 , had a bit of fun stripping it down and the intention is to put it back together and do the Youtube movie in reverse. TTB
  2. Just thought i would post a few pics of my latest resto , my 77 TT500. Its took some time and now needs registering, after that i have just got to wait for the better weather. Im on with the next XT which will be something a little special. TTB
  3. Cracking bikes , i bought my lad an R version a year ago to pass his test on and it was a great bike, he passed his test and has moved up to an old school XT250G. TTB
  4. Ooooh yes cant wait to Saturday , me and my lad are goind and the weather dare i say looked good last time i looked. TTB
  5. Welcome Addict , well i will change the post to goodbye looking at your other paddypost ! The guys are OK on here but wind anybody up there will get there heckles up. TTB aged 48
  6. Good model to have which is the 43F model. TTB
  7. The WR is a far faster bike than the XT660R and the TTR600 and as far as sexy well this does it for me. TTB
  8. I have had a WR426 and take it from experience the bigger WR 's are a handful, and not much fun due to there raw power, the only other bikes that i have that comes near is the YZ 465 and the 490 both of which are too much. Spinning the rear wheel in 2nd is great fun but not on tarmac and not when the rear wheel is trying to follow the road camber. I have 2 XT600 2TT600 and a XT660R , my own preference is the 2001 TTR600 which has lots of usable bottom end grunt and handles well due to the Ohlins shock, The softer version is the TT600RE which is more ideal for green lanning and commuting. It all depends on what you are going to use the bike for but the TTR250 is a good bike except its power restriction. Good luck with whatever you get. TTB
  9. Sounds like its shorting out when the bulb is placed in, i would strip the light down and see what the wires are like behind the 2 contacts. TTB
  10. Glad you spotted it blackhat , some pics here for reference. And this is how it all started. and part way through resto on last years mag shoot. Hopefully this will be in another mag one day , just waiting for the tank to come back then i can get it motd. TTB TTB
  11. Im sure the motor will fit but the CDI units are different, cant say about the wiring , why dont you rebuild the motor. TTB
  12. There self adjusting and if its rattling then more likel than not needs a new chain. TTB
  13. The other one worth checking is the oil seal around the cam adjuster cap. TTB
  14. Strange that because i spotted that on the net today still for sale for £595 and i thought the same, Sorry but what a dog. Thought about having alook as im only 15 miles west away from the town. Is it a genuine 55W Tenere or a 43F with the a Tenere tank fitted, if its the later its worth sorting and spending a few quid on it as they are getting rare now. Should the bike be white or blue , good luck with sorting it out. i have by the way a good white headlamp cowl still on my 43F XT600 that will be for sale as i have a nos set. PM me if your interested. Cheers TTB
  15. Hi Nathan More likely leajing from the cam cover as there is no gasket only gasket sealer used to seal the top, my lads is the same but not so much of a big leak. Hope it helps a bit. TTB
  16. I have these both on my DT1 and DT360 and there nice shocks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-Yamaha-DT1MX-Replacement-Shocks-RT1MX-DT2MX-RT2MX-/300733412156?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46051bb33c#ht_500wt_1202 TTB
  17. Its strange this but the same topic has been mentioned on another forum and the same answers have been given, too many 80s and 90s sportsbikes in CMM. TTB
  18. Hi Mark , cant be positive but the i think most of the gaskets will fit, you may find the odd o ring thats different but most of the set should be OK. Good luck with the build. TTB
  19. I like the Bell Jet RT helmet with some Scott 83X motocross goggles myself, nice and comfy http://www.motolegends.com/home/search.html?filter_value=bell+rt+helmets&filter_type=6&filter_Action=0&filter_name=SearchTerm Matched with a Bell Mojave jacket , King of cool. You would look a tit on a chopper though with all this on so it all depends on the bike you ride. TTB
  20. Well done Nathan, XT250 are nice bikes for starters , my 18 year old rides on and loves it. Its rattles a bit but still keeps going and and keeps going up in price. If you have a look at www.xt500.co there is a lad on there who has restored one and has made a cracking job on it. Cant fault having a classic, always wanted an XT500 myself and now i have one or two. TTB
  21. I think they have a lot of shit i a single week and maybe there tolerance to anything ends up being zero, get some on a good day and there OK. I wouldnt want there job as i havent the patience and would just loose it putting up with some of the the tossers in society today. Why is it though that they dont get respect but when we all go on holiday and see some menacing 4 foot 5 French copper, we wouldnt want to get involved. I had 2 French police follow me for 10 miles a few years ago whilst riding in France and it was one of the most nervous time in my life. TTB

    dt250

I have a dt360a motor in bits so if the mechanisms the same there should be one in with the box of bits. PM me if your interested TTB
  23. I would say its the cat that would probably restrict it, i bought an xt125r for my lad and another exhaust but never got round to cutting the cat out. Still have an exhaust if you fancy doing some mod on it, PM me if your interested before it goes on ebay. Regarding the seat its bolted on from underneath. TTB
  24. Hi Jeddy I have had also the same issue with my DT360 and the only faults i can find is that there is a gap formed under the reeds and an impression into the read block where the reeds have sat over the years, this would allow fuel & air to be drawn in all the time and irratic running i would think. While you have the carb off it may be worth just looking and seeing if there are any gap issues under the reed valve. Any ideas chaps.
  25. No technical help but it may solve the problem in the time being. http://www.whitedogbikes.com/item--Rock-Oil-Strawberry-Scented-2-Stroke-Oil-1-Litre--rock-oil-strawberry-2.html TTB
