Revived this machine of my youth. It had been sitting in the back of my dad's farm shop for 27 years. Got a new carb. Got Fire. And then after some adjustments and some parts found online at ebay and mrcycleparts.com, it runs like the mean machine of old. I do have some clutch slippage when I get on it hard and don't seem to have fifth gear. I have read about an adjustment for the automatic clutches, but can't seem to find how much to adjust, where the bolt is located , and how tight to tighten it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Marc Decker Hutto, TX

Hi all, I recently traded my R1 for my 1st ever cruiser. I am currently working for a foreign mission in Africa, due to no qualified technicians here, one local bike repairer tried to help start my bike and in the process fried the ecu. I have searched online to see if I could get a fairly used one but can't find anyone breaking for spares. Does anyone know where I can pick one up or can I use a compatible ecu and what model bike would it be ? Please help as my bike is grounded for now

Hello Yamaha members, have to admit that this marque is new to me although I love older bikes. Had two Honda superdreams that fell apart under me, then happened onto a beautiful K100LT. Must say so far my all time favourite is my old R65. Its not fast but gets you there at a good steady speed. The XJ 900 F is a real surprise, solid for one thing and surprisingly agile, but the lights have stopped working and need to find a solution ready for bike weather. Here in France there 's no MOT test here as you all probably know but bikes get stopped regularly by the boys in blue for a look see! Were located were the best wine is made. Well as of last night I picked up another bike. I've never had a yamaha but the price was right, and it's a goer!! So sitting in my garage is a 1980 AG 100 2 stroke. It's in not too bad a nick, and want to morph it into a little cafe racer screamer. Has anyone tried this before, or even to hot up one of these little rippa's?? I'll post a pic soon, but just thought I'd say G'Day. Cheers, Scott.

'Ello, newbie here, both to the forums and to biking. I got my CBT done in September and started scouting for first bikes. Years of familial teasing about being short (I'm 5'8"!) is apparently embedded deep into my brain, because I went for the Custom rather than the regular YBR simply for the lower seat height. About a week of angst based around what a massive mistake it was to have such a shiny, good-nick bike as my first one, I came out of our drive onto the massive hill I live on, had to stop for a car coming up the slope, put my foot... and my weight... on the downhill side... and toppled over in supremely slow motion. The car driver even paused to watch (but…

Hi all, sorry to raise conundrum on my first post, but this is driving me mad, so hope anyone can possibly help with an ignition problem on my ybr125 07 plate (carb version) since around november last year my bike has been reluctant to start with a warm engine, eg i've taken it out for a run, stopped, and couple of minutes later when i'm ready to go again, my bike doesn't want to start. it will start fine from a cold engine on or off the choke, and once it is running (hot or cold) it runs fine and you wouldn't suspect a thing. i did suspect it might be the coil breaking down but the replacement hasn't seemed to make a lot of difference as it still is playing up.... …

Hi everyone. Name's Jeremy, I hail from the the US in the state of Washington. Totally new to the whole motorcycle experience and found you guys. I recently acquired a 1987 FZ600 for $200. I hope to find a ton of information from this site. Im pretty new to the forums too so I guess I'd like a little guidance on how to look for info. Id like to put a wider back wheel and tire on the FZ and do a top end / carbeurator rebuild. Anyways, Its nice to meet you all and I look forward to being a part of this forum.
