Hello there; I'm doing a feature for MCN called `Why I had to have a 2004/05 Yamaha R1' and wanted owner opinions on handling, performance, reliability, mods made and of course, why you had to have that particular model. MCN would also like to see owner pics - head n shoulders type of thing - plus pics of R1s, especially those with modifications made. If you can spare 10 mins to chat, email me a contact phone number, or email your views plus pics to; [email protected] the deadline is Feb 27th 2006 by the way. ta v much alastairw freelance bloke

...Stay away from 4-Wheels these days! When an opportunity to experience speed presents itself to Valentino Rossi, the Italian isn´t one to waste it. Last Friday, after returning from Yamaha´s Qatar Test, he spent the day driving a Maserati MC12, a car which last season took part in the Italian Touring Car Championship. At the request of Rossi, there is no footage from the session at Misano. However it is evident that the MotoGP star once again showed his adaptability, having previously turned his hand to WRC and Formula 1. Back on two wheels this week, Rossi will continue with the preseason alongside the rest of the MotoGP teams in Malaysia. Money…

I'm going!!! Just thought I'd share that with you all. My mate's in the RAF and he's based out there for four months so we're gonna visit. Myself and two mates fly out there on Wednesday 5th April and come home on the Sunday night. The racing should be magic and apparently Doha (the city my mate's based which is home to Losail Circuit) is just like Dubai - party central! I cannot wait.

Morning all. My first visit and post here. After being in the US for 8 years now, and missing biking from back in the UK, I have the hankering for a bike again. MY good friend, a non biker, has just got a nice second hand HD Sportster thingy. Now let me just say that if you like that sort of thing...fine with me, BUT, it aint my cuppa tea! So have been thrashing around, wondering and pondering what to get and am sort of narrowing it down. Went to a local dealer that had a cpl of '06 ST's. After my '93 trophy, they felt way too sporty for me. Little did I know, DUH, that there arent any Trumpet Trophies any more. There didnt appear to be much wind protect…

Hi folks just joined and though that I would spread the word about winter riding, . . . . wet roads and DIESEL do not mix, in case you did not know!!!! Managed to high side my Divi at fairly low speed on some diesel left by taxi cabs turning at a rank. Luckily only bent tha bars and smashed an indicator, main cost was a new helmet, as the last thing I saw was the roof of a parked car before hitting the street. . . . . . . live and learn.. live and learn.
