o.k. new here so intro first, im jason, experianced rider with passion for 2 stroke. now down to the problem at hand... After many attempts and differing problems my tzr 125 88 made her first cough last week, build from bits with alot of help from ebay and haynes. BUT... she wont start, problem being no (very little) fuel is getting to the engine (spark plug's dry), so 1st thought CARB, checked float hight n condition, jets, pipes, tap, intake, everything, no visable or apparent problems, its a standard 28mm mikuni, custom air filter (k n N), ov bore 1.0 + piston oversize, single ring (top) she intermitently backfires and pisses fuel out from all 3 over flow pipe…

  5. Started by patterned,

I've purchased an OEM 40T rear drive sprocket. Now I need to get a front sprocket, but I wanted to ask you guys some questions before I do.. just so I can learn a bit. Are there certain size sprocket combinations that are required? Like 16/40? Or can I use a different front sprocket with a 40 tooth back sprocket. What will give me better mpg, or lower RPMs at higher speeds? I'm getting confused with this stuff Thanks!

Hey there everyone. I have just purchased another FZ400 (well i'm hoping thats what it is) The problem that I have is the log book I was given for the bike does not state what model it is. It states that it was imported in 1994. It also shows that is a 1985 model. The only thing that it says about the bike is that it is yamaha 400cc bike. Why doesn't it show what model it is? I'm curious to know whether it IS an FZ or an FZR? Any help much appreciated Phil 4 wheels moves your body - 2 wheels moves your soul !

G'day everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. Restoring an '80 XS 250 but thinking of putting a 400 engine in instead, parts and even just engines are a bastard of a thing to find in Australia. How you all going? Cheers

Hi, all, Franky here.... just got back to bike's again after an 8 year break, and managed to get myself a mint TRX850 with a genuine 9932 miles, came with a full service history and all the old MOT's. Taking a bit of getting used to going into the corners with the weight, as i am a keen cyclist as well and do a little road racing. May take a week or 2 to get used to the weight differance, used to throwing a race bike that weighs about the same as a bag of sugar. Anyway...... just thought i would drop in and say hello. Franky

Hi all, I recently bought an R6 03 plate, and have only just noticed that the mileage on the odometer does not match the last MOT certificate... is there anyway to tell if the bike has been clocked? is the mileage recorded in the ECU? Any help/advice would be much appreciated Andy

Two old bikers are in a bar. They both have had a successful life and have done well with there businesses. They start arguing about who has the biggest house and property. Finally after a couple of hours there is no real end to who has what. One of them says.......I'll tell you what, I can get on my old Harley at sunrise and ride till sunset and I still wont have reached the end of my property. The other old biker puts his beer down, looks at his friend, and says.........I know just what you mean, I had an old Harley like that once. __________________
