The European Union published a Directive in July 2003 that will require all category C and D licence holders to take part in 35 hours retraining every five years, in order to keep their entitlement to drive professionally. The Directive also gives details of a new initial training regime that new drivers must go through before they can drive professionally for the first time. This will have a major impact on driver testing, as the existing driving tests will be modified and lengthened to adapt to these requirements. The Directive will come into force across all EU Member States in 2008 for bus drivers, and 2009 for lorry drivers. The legislation for these requirements…

One Christmas Eve, a frenzied young man ran into a pet shop looking for an unusual Christmas gift for his wife. The shop owner suggested a parrot, named Chet, which could sing famous Christmas carols. This seemed like the perfect gift. "How do I get him to sing?" The young man asked, excitedly. "Simply hold a lighted match directly under his feet." was the shop owner's reply. The shop owner held a lighted match under the parrot's left foot. Chet began to sing: "Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! ..." The shop owner then held another match under the parrot's right foot. Then Chet's tune changed, and the air was filled with: " Silent Night, Holy Night..." The young man was s…

The catholic priest was walking down the high street and coming towards him was the local vicar. "Good morning vicar" But the vicar walked straight past him. Upon that the priest turned around and in a raised voice said "GOOD MORNING VICAR" I'm so sorry said the vicar, but someone has stolen my Yamaha DT125, and it's the only means of me getting to see my parishiners out in the countryside, without it I don't know what I will do. "Simple" said the priest. "When you take Mass next Sunday recite the ten commandments, when you get to ""Thy shall not steal"" look up at the congregation and you will spot the guilty face." Next Monday the priest was walking down th…

awrite folks newbie looking for advice!! I have a 99 plate Fazer which was off the road for a while and when I put it nack on the road it developed this problem!! When accelelarating hard the bike stutters as if the carbs are flooding but the power kicks in after a second or so! I have replaced fuel pump, filter, drained tank and filled with new fuel, recharged battery, changed oil and filter, cleaned carbs and checked that clean fuel is flowing through but the problem is still there and I am at a loss as to what can be causing it!! Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

I've found it - the bike that makes me grin every time i see it. Much as I love newer bikes, i'm drooling over an RD350 LC - Kenny Roberts Replica. Its owned by friend of my dads, but only comes out once a year for MOT. Its the real thing, not a cheap copy, in immaculate condition, very very low miles, one owner from new. But, its not for sale at the min But thats a good thing cos gives me time to scrape every penny i can to hopefully be in a position where i can bring it home someday. Any of you RD experts know how much such a minter would make??

Hi , Just back from the NW200 road races in N Ireland. I have been looking forward to them all year. Gutted about the death of Mark Young as any road race fan would be. Okay the weather was hit and miss and we lost the last two races. Safety first is always paramount but the fannying around and time wasted about should we call it a wet race or a dry race lost so much time and I suspect pressure from elsewhere ruined what should have been a terrific end to the 80th year of running this great event. Let's pray there will be no more fatalities anywhere in the road racing events to come or anywhere else in motor cycle sport , but please organisors would it be possible to …

Got a big service the other day. They recon my shock is finished and i need new chain and sprocks. Shock seems fine to me but they thinks its total done, chain and sproks is on the last nitch so that's fair play in 1000 miles or so i recon. Shocks seem awful expensive. If mine is shagged then whats the best replacement? Dont seem to be that much choice on ebay and some are a total ripoff. One company refurbishes them think its worth a try? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-YZF-600-YZF-7...%3A1%7C294%3A50 also got a rear flat tyre last night just left my bike outside my mates house, am guted. can you get them fixed, its almost new!!

Had plans made all last week to tend to some overdue chores around home......but like usual.....the Ol' Lady changed everything @ the last moment.....& was NOT happy with me when I told her I was staying home from a trip to the beach that she expected every1 to comply to. Finally got the nagging brake issue with my YamaHauler sorted:spoton:......now I can start planning a retrieval trip to collect a 370 Bultaco Frontera for restoration. After pulling a bit of maintenance on the XT.....just couldn't resist taking advantage of the killer weather we've been bestowed with lately..... Nice views of 'Hood along the Clackamas...... on the way t…
